3. jenkins. like the lil animal, he's always been a kid i liked. but i always saw him as a little over rated. but this season he is really starting to live up to the billing. i really liked the way he played against USC and thus far this year. if he continues in this fashion i might be willing to consider his name alongside guys like springs and winfield. we're not there yet... but maybe.
Jenkins has been pretty fucking beast mode the last two and a half years.

Maybe they know what is coming? :ohwell:

"They did everything we saw on film, nothing changed," said USC linebacker Rey Maualuga

"Their offense is pretty easy to figure out." Pete Carroll

"They gave us the same look we practiced and prepared for, and we hit it just like we did in practice. Nothing changed." USC QB Mark Sanchez

And in three years, why haven't we changed things up? It's obviously not working against larger programs.

Winners always say those things! IN reality they blocked better, covered better, got open more, threw the ball better and ran it better. Trying to out trick them is for the big underdogs. The elite's line up doing what they always do and just let see who's team is better. Our talent overall didn't measure up. Though its only on one day..in 75 tOSU destroyed UCLA in the collesium..then were beaten by the same team in the Rose Bowl!

You bring up a good question and reading those quotes from USC players, whether it's 'player speak' or not, is frustrating. But when I see a team struggling to execute the offense as it is, I am not sure that changes in plays, formations, etc. would have yielded better results. For me, the lack of execution given the number of upperclassmen on this team is not what I expected to see. Then again, maybe that is my problem. :p

Just a reminder, FSU beat UF at their house in '96, when we were missing key o-line players, and yet we demolished them by 32 points in the Suger Bowl rematch with the injured guys back (and a tweak to go to the shot-gun).

Two games, same year, thirty points difference. Football.

Good point. That's why they play the games.

first let me say that usc is probably the best ever college team so it was not a surprise at all that you lost. i knew that was going to happen, i just didnt realize how bad it was going to be. not having my heart in the game helped. its always easier for someone to be objective when they have no stake in the game. and the bottom line is that you will go to the rose bowl, play oregon or arizona state and get your 16million. what isnt to like about that?

saying that, i think that the expectation of the program is WAY to high. Yes you have a very very good program but it just is not to the level of the top tier teams in other conferences. how can you be expected to play the top tier teams and compete when you dont get challenged during the course of the year due to schedule. maybe if you played uga lsu fla and tennesse every damn year like an sec school, that might help. when your only challenge is a team that isnt in your conference how do u realistically expect to win?

saying that, if you keep getting guys like terrell pryor i believe things can even up. that kid has so much upside its sick. if he can learn to throw consistently i believe you have an opportunity to get the other players with the skill to compete at the very highest level..just realize that you have a very good team and not a great team.

some of you fans have to come down from the clouds and learn that 11-1 aint that bad..i am sure i am going to get pounded for what i just said but in all reality it is true. playing OHIO before USC just doesnt help you prepare for USC. yes you had an off week to prepare, but 3 off weeks wasnt going to prevent saturdays outcome.

We'll get challenged by teams that beat SEC teams in bowls.
We didn't have a bye week before playing USC. They had one before playing us.

The program has 800 wins, several National Championships, and 7 Heisman Trophies.

We don't wish to lower the expectiations for the program.

USC had the bye week...not OSU.

Your explanation is too simplistic for me...you are implying that there is a major talent discrepancy...I don't see that. I see weaknesses, but not a glaring difference.

Schedule-wise, that is something that cannot be controlled...the conference is down, but that is cyclical and it will be back. The main OOC games are scheduled years in advance. How can you read the direction of a program so far in advance? The cupcakes have been explained numerous times...kinda like USCarolina playing UAB and Wofford this year...paychecks at home.

sorry about the last part..you are totally right..how can it be within the rules for a team to get 3 bye weeks.

i am somewhat confused on the first part. i take it to mean that you believe the sec teams arent a challenge BUT the teams that beat the sec teams are..i have to be misinterpreting your meaning because as of yet you havent come close to the sec teams. how is it that the those are suddenly not a challenge

Continue talking amongst yourselves.
