RB/WR Curtis Samuel (Washington Commanders)

A recruit's high school coach doesn't fly to a college for a day if that recruit isn't going to commit there...

A recruit also has until NSD of next year to change his mind. All I'm saying is that we will at least get one of the two, if it isn't obvious to everyone.

If Brown commits to Rutgers first, there is no way in hell Samuel is going to follow.

I checked the last few pages and didn't see this... but I've read Curtis won't be visiting as planned. Obviously take it for what its worth.

Quote from the same article Buckskin86 posted.
There has been speculation that Samuel would travel to Ohio State this week to make his pledge. And although he could decide to make his decision soon, according to Rizzi, Samuel won't be visiting the Buckeyes any time this week.

"He's not going, coach Landberg is just going for the day," said Rizzi. "He's flying out today and coming back Friday because we've gotta get going. We are giving out equipment this weekend and he's got to get back to the program. He's just going to sit down with the coaching staff.

"We already know where they stand with Curt and where Curt stands with them. And there's a comfort level there. Now, we're just building a relationship, trying to get better as a staff, and getting on the board with them... watching film, seeing how their practice goes, stuff like that."
Ray Lizzi is an Erasmus Hall assistant & Curtis Samuel's position coach.

There is no way Rutgers is getting Blacknall, Samuel, and Brown in the same class. If by some freak chance Samuel flips to Rutgers, we will at least get Brown.

Hopefully, we land them both.

I wouldn't expect one prospect to affect the other. I believe Samuel, who is more of an inside receiver/runningback combo player wouldn't even compete with a split end/flanker type like Brown. I'd love for both to make it in this class and I'd like to think we'd hold a spot for each.

Brown would probably compete with blacknall for an outside WR spot, but Samuel is a slot and even a RB in some systems. I believe we would have room for both with griffin and wood leaving and making room. Both brown and Samuel are elite talents that urban and staff could definitely bring in and fit into our offense. Brown is even versatile enough to play TE/h back as well. And Samuel could play like how Wilson has so far, and be an option at WR and RB.

At Rutgers Brown would get immediate playing time. They are not OSU...they don't have the talent on their roster to tell a kid like Brown your sitting...they would find a spot for him.

I think we are sitting pretty good with Dixon and Samuels. We shall see.

If Samuel commits to Ohio State, which I think he will, does that effect your spots for a guy like Smith?

EDITS: it's all over twitter that he just committed to Ohio State -- congrats on the awesome get, guys!
Eric Smith? They play different positions.

11W reporting a commit!!! Yay!
