RB/WR Curtis Samuel (Buffalo Bills)

The salient point from that paragraph was that after being laid out the play before instead of shutting down and letting it get in his head, he got fired up and brought it to a 5-star LB that outweighs him by 50 to 60 lbs. That's what you really want out of a player. The details don't really matter.

Hear hear. We already knew that Curtis is off the charts in talent and speed, but to show that kind of toughness and resilience at such an early point in his career makes you think he could be a great one down the road.

It also shows that he gets the physics of it. A smaller running back (or rugby player who learned the hard way early on) has to accelerate going into the impact/tackle. This shifts the relative energy transfer and actually helps prevent/reduce injuries. It's hard to teach some players to do that because it's somewhat counter-intuitive, I guess, but it works.

The guy that’s in the rotation already is Curtis Samuel,” Meyer said during spring drills. “I want to say that’s shocking, especially at tailback, because I thought he’d be more of a wide receiver-slash guy. Eventually he might, but he’s legitimate running the ball. “Unless there’s something up, he’ll play.”

“We have some depth there, but right now 15 (Elliott) and 4 (Samuel) are the two.”
