RB Trey Sermon (2020 B1G CCG MVP, Indianapolis Colts)

The patience was obviously rewarded when he dashed down the sideline two weeks ago at Michigan State, punctuating a performance that made it quite clear why he was so coveted by the program when the graduate elected to leave Oklahoma earlier this year. Yes, it took a little longer than expected to get comfortable — but now Sermon is gaining strength and poised to make a major impact at the most opportune time for the Buckeyes.

“I definitely felt like it was going to happen,” Sermon said after the win at Michigan State. “Each week I just felt like I was gradually getting better, getting more in sync with the offensive line and just getting used to playing with those guys.

“It was kind of slow the first few games. But I mean, it’s about just practicing hard, continuing to get reps and just getting a good feel for it. And I was able to make the most of my opportunities.”

Trey Sermon would've been a Buckeye back in 2017, except some kid named J.K. Dobbins took his spot (and the Buckeye staff was still pursuing Cam Akers and Najee Harris until the bitter end).

Career stats at Oklahoma: 339 rushes, 2076 yards, 6.1 ypc, 22 TDs; 36 receptions, 391 yards, 10.9 ypc, 3 TDs

If healthy (he missed the final five games last year with a leg injury that required surgery), he would be the perfect fit for Ohio State in 2020.
I can't believe that Ohio State offered that Dobbins kid over Trey Sermon....

Guy made himself some money today. I remember when Warren was being the dipshit that he is and it looked like we might not play, then OU's starter opted out, and Trey seemed to be getting an extremely raw deal. Really glad that didn't materialize and he got to show out on the big stage today. It'd be incredible to see more of this in the playoffs - seems like the offensive philosophy could definitely use some re-visiting given the unique circumstances we're in and what's been put on tape so far.
