RB Trey Sermon (2020 B1G CCG MVP, Pittsburgh Steelers)

Buckeye Heroes: Trey Sermon was massive in two of Ohio State’s biggest games in 2020

After transferring from Oklahoma, Sermon made his mark in his only season at Ohio State

Unfortunately for Sermon and the Buckeyes, it would come crashing back to earth against Alabama. On the first play of the game, Sermon was injured and lost for the rest of the game. Even if Sermon had been healthy, it likely wouldn’t have mattered, since Ohio State had no answer for DeVonta Smith, who finished with 12 catches for 215 yards and three touchdowns in the 52-24 win for the Crimson Tide.

Just sayin': Still, it was really a bummer, him getting injured on the 1st play of the game against Alabama.

Google AI: Trey Sermon's career earnings are estimated to be $4,348,004 through the 2025 NFL season, according to Spotrac.com. This includes his base salaries from his time with the San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles, and Indianapolis Colts, as well as his current contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Here's a breakdown of his earnings:
  • 2021 (49ers): $660,000
  • 2022 (Eagles): $881,497
  • 2023 (Colts): $940,000
  • 2024 (Colts): $1,055,000
  • 2025 (Steelers): $1,170,000
  • Total: $4,348,004
A recent contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2025 is a one-year deal worth $1,170,000, with a cap number of $1,030,000.

Just sayin': He's doing a lot better (financially) than I did for my first 5 years after college......
Sometimes it just a matter of a player getting on a team that is the "right fit". Hopefully he can put up some good numbers with the Steelers.

Losing him on the first play of the NCG was devastating. We probably weren't gonna win, but it could've been at least a competitive shootout
I was at the game (surreal as it was in Jan 2021 with 1/2 the stadium empty due to, um, reasons) and right after that play I turned to my buddy and said, "Welp, guess we lose by 35 instead of 21 now."
