Just sayin': I sure hope so. Averaging 1.9 yards a carry against Maryland is pathetic.
I don’t think Hendo would have changed that narrative
Yep a win is a win is a win, but the Oline did the backs no favor and got handled by a statistically marginal dline against the run.Just sayin': The rushing game stats were 33 carries for 662 yards, ave. carry 1.9 yards, longest run 11 yards, and 1 rushing TD which is absolutely pathetic. Surely he would have improved the rushing stats. In addition, he is really our best hope for a long breakaway TD run. And yeah I know, the OL consistently was losing "the battle in the trenches" on running plays.
Regardless Ohio State did eventually win by 20; so all is good. Hopefully the day off gives his injury(?) a chance to fully heal and he is 100% for Purdue.
I'm with you man, if it hasn't come together at this point in the season then I don't think it will happen tbh. Like you said, we should steamroll Purdue's DL, but PSU we might not get more than 10 rushing yards if the OL does not step it up in the run game and eventually being one-dimensional will bite us in the ass.The offensive line will really need to step up if Ohio State is to have a chance in the two big games ahead. I feel less confident that will happen after yesterday. Good play against Purdue won't really reveal much because their lines are so bad.
Difference is, 1 massive hole for Henderson, and he puts 6 on the board. The other RBs don’t have close to that type of game and momentum altering speed. And having that 1 play can swing big games.Henderson needs a massive hole. I don't care if he has Ted Ginn speed.....the blocking wasn't getting him any more running room than they gave Chip or Chop.
Sometimes, it's not even a question of him having a massive hole. It's whether he cuts back at the right time. If he doesn't, it's one of his 2 yard gain or 1 yard loss runs. If he cuts at the right moment, it's 40 yards+.Difference is, 1 massive hole for Henderson, and he puts 6 on the board. Against scUM last year, the OSU defense was shutting down the offense for most of the game but the Edwards run broke the defenses spirit. Chip and Miyan don’t have that type of speed. But Treyveon does, and that makes a big difference in the college game
What I'm saying is, speed doesn't matter with this line when your vision is questionable. Henderson's vision is questionable. Yes....obviously.....Henderson has the home run ability, if the play is blocked well. But Henderson goes down easily, and can't easily find the correct hole to hit the way Chip or Williams can. They all have their strengths and weaknesses......but Henderson's strength is he might hit a 70 yard TD run if nobody puts a hand on him. People will get hands on him, because this line can't run block to save their lives.Difference is, 1 massive hole for Henderson, and he puts 6 on the board.
