RB Miyan “Chop” Williams (Official Thread)

Jerry Rice ran a 4.71.

Ted Ginn Jr ran a slower 40 than Holmes or Gonzo.

40 times are overrated.
I agree 40 times are somewhat overrated. They're certainly not the be-all-end-all. Especially if the deep ball isn't your game.

For the record, 40 times:
Ginn - 4.38
Santonio - 4.35
Gonzo - 4.44
M. Thomas - 4.57

Now, Ginn's 40 time is excellent, but not necessarily eye-popping. However, with pads on, I'm not sure I've seen a faster WR...at least not at tOSU. His "football speed" was absolutely lethal. Thomas' 40 time is a little below average, but that hasn't stopped him from becoming probably the best WR in the NFL right now.

The Bungles' John Ross ran a record 4.22 at the 2017 combine en route to being selected 9th overall. In three years, he has done this:

Meh.

I think we all remember the injury preceding that 40 time for Ginn. His track times and what we all simply saw with our eyes both at OSU and in the NFL make it fairly clear 4.38 isn’t what he was.

SKULL SESSION: ANNIVERSARY OF MATT SYLVESTER'S SHOT, THE BUCKEYES HAVE A LOT OF LINEBACKERS, AND MIYAN WILLIAMS LIKES BEING CALLED “FAT BOY”

“FAT BOY” IT IS
. Miyan Williams has spoken – "Fat Boy" stays.

You see, when he posted a before and after photo of his absurd body transformation, I made the audacious suggestion that he would need a new nickname, as he is decidedly no longer a fat boy.

I was wrong. It was a bad suggestion, and I apologize from the bottom of my heart.

Fat Boy has spoken.

I look forward to a rousing chorus of "Fat Boy! Fat Boy! Fat Boy!" from the congregation at the concrete cathedral on the Olentangy after he caps off a 250-yard rushing performance with a trip to the end zone.

Chambers ceiling looks higher. But with such a talented O line blocking for these guys they both will be productive in this offense. Have we ever had four 5 star offensive lineman on our offensive line?

Class of 2008 had ”Block O" (Mike Brewster, Mike Adams, and J.B. Shugarts) to go with Alex Boone from the 2006 class. I believe Boone, Brewster, and Adams were consensus 5* and Shugarts was rated 5* by at least one recruiting site. So, for at least 2008 and probably 2009 (can't remember if Boone declared early) we had four 5* OL.
