He ran a 4.74 40? Marotti's got some work to do
Just sayin'; I don't think he'll ever be a speed burner and/or breakaway back, etc. We need him to be the guy that will get you the yards on 3rd and 1, or 1st and goal running between the tackles. I agree, Marotti's got some work to do, but I don't think it has anything to do with 4.75 in the 40. He just needs to be stronger and quicker, not necessarily faster. However, a little faster would be a good thing too. I envision him eventually being a "Jim Otis type of running back"; hit the hole quick, rarely being tackled for a loss, strength to move the pile forward, and consistently picking up 3, 4, 5, or 6 yards a carry.
If he can get 1 yard at a 90% clip against an elite line when the world knows what the call is then he has very clear role on this and any other team. Even if he never has a run for 2 or more. Though I would call that a pipe dream.Just sayin'; I don't think he'll ever be a speed burner and/or breakaway back, etc. We need him to be the guy that will get you the yards on 3rd and 1, or 1st and goal running between the tackles. I'm thinking a bigger Boom Herron is good model to shoot for
It's all subjective; however, I'll say both Jim Otis and Dan Herron are pretty much the "same model" even though each played in a different era. Boom (5' 10" & 215 lbs, ranked #18) and Otis (6' 0" & 220 lbs, ranked #16) have very similar stats and are ranked #16 and #18 on Ohio State's all time list:

Hyde ran a 4.62 at the combine.
