RB Miyan “Chop” Williams (Official Thread)

Ohio Running Back Miyan Williams Commits to Ohio State

Williams (5-10 215) is a 3-star prospect and ranked the No. 43 running back in nation and the No. 618 player overall per the 247Sports Composite.

He is also ranked the No. 18 player in the state of Ohio.

Williams took an unofficial visit to Ohio State for the Penn State game this weekend and clearly enjoyed what he saw.

Williams committed to Iowa State on the fourth of July this past summer, and also held offers from Michigan, Cincinnati, Kansas, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, Purdue, Kentucky, and others.

The runner up to the 2018 Mr. Football last year — Ohio State freshman linebacker Cade Stover won the award — Williams was a First-Team All-State selection in 2018 following a season where he rushed for over 2,800 yards. He is a four-year starter for Winton Woods.

Here is a scouting report on Williams from Ohio high school scout John McCallister, who runs the McCallister Scouting Report.

Powerful north/south runner with deceptive speed. Good initial quickness. Avoids first tackler. Good run vision. More of a power runner with good balance. Durable. Finishes plays. Gives excellent effort. Breaks tackles. Like his toughness and physicality. Changes direction and will get better. Needs to keep working on speed. Needs to find a 5th gear, but fast enough. Will block. Has 2nd gear. More of inside runner. Top end speed is one of his few weaknesses. A top 5 MSR running back in the Class of 2020.
