Hardesty isn't really a small back. 6' and 190 pounds is decent size for a RB entering college. He'll leave college at least 6', 210, which isn't bad.

Agreed. But he's definitely different than a Moline type, so I was conceding that he was a "small" back of sorts.

I agree that this is about establishing recruiting touchpoints and maybe a longshot recruit.

...If our line begins to dominate as well as it should over the next few years, we can survive without having a huge back in this class (as long as we grab one next year). Dionte is a wrecking machine back there.

But back to Maurice...

With the speed at QB we could have, plus the unmatched speed at WR, a brilliant speedster at RB might fit right in. Sure we'd all love to land Gwaltney, but I think we'll be just fine if Wells is our #1 guy with Pittman and Haw giving him a rest every now and then.

My biggest area of concern is that we will get shut out of a top running back on signing day! Go ahead and call me what you like. I will be nervous until Mo Wells announces. I will hope for the best.

In a week from today we'll all find out when he pulls out a ball cap of the school of choice and announces at the AA game (12pm central time on NBC). Maurice is a class athlete would would do so well at OSU; especially with this monster group of offensive linemen that will be blocking for him real soon.

this is a quote from wells in his latest scout update. now i'm not scientician, but i am able to put two and two together. wells visited osu on 11/20. the following week was thanksgiving. there were rumors that he committed to osu over that weekend. he didnt visit GT until 12/17.

2+2 = Mo Wells pulling out an osu hat on 1/15.
