RB Maurice Wells (Official Thread)

http://www.floridatoday.com/prepfootball/ray/121304.htm

This link is Ray Herring's recruiting diary which describes his visit to GTech, the same weekend that MoW was there. It gives a good illustration of what happened on his recruiting trip.

My new friend Maurice Wells, who is a top running back in the country from Sandalwood High School, ordered a big plate of french fries and everybody was still so hungry, we all nabbed his fries. Turned out he had the best idea of the night!

After dinner, we went to get our car from the valet, it was funny, here comes all of those Mercedes, Lexus, and Hummers, pulling up and then our little honda car that one of the player's owned. We all just crammed in the car, turned the music up and started to drive off. The people at the Four Seasons got a kick out of that. I guess they don't normally get an old Honda with five football players crammed into it everyday.

The rest of the night I got a chance to hang back out with their freshman All-American wide receiver Calvin Johnson, quarterback Reggie Ball, and their All-American safety James Butler. We went out again and had another good time. Those guys are cool, I could see myself hanging around guys like that if I choose Georgia Tech.

Strangely enough, he'd have a much easier time getting quality RB playing time with us than at Tech. PJ Daniels will be back and they've got a couple of decent backs behind him. He could step right in and split time with Pittman and Haw with us with the chance to take the spot.

MoW says he may have to "flip a coin" between tOSU and GTech. He says that if he had to pick one today, he would have to pick one of the two at random.

in the article he talked about each school. From his comments I got the impression that he would flip a coin and if it was heads, he would go to osu, and if it were tails, he would flip again.

Im having a bad feeling about recruiting. The buckeyes are suffering from negative recruiting. I mean, the whole clarett crap was one thing... now Smith getting $ from a booster.... Dukes facing serious prision time.... other programs are able to say "its only a matter of time before they go on probation.... do you want to play for a program in disarray? How long can Tressel survive all of these scandals?"

Im thinking we dont get Wells, Ashely or Daniels.... :(

I was on my way back to SC driving through Southern Ohio/Western WV listening to 610 WTVN yesterday...repeatedly, Conley said Wells was a "Silent/Soft" verbal. IMO, the kid is throwing out the smokescreen to build the drama for his announcement...

Not worried at all

Ohio State needs to get back to recruiting Power RB's like Eddie George,Joe Montgomery,J.Wells.

OSU should have been recruiting Gwaltney long ago like back in his Jr. and Sr. year like they did with Mo Wells.
