RB Maurice Clarett (B1G Freshman of the Year, National Champion)

I was at the 2002 season opener against TT. Seeing as how i couldnt afford to go the scUM game that year, it was the only game i was actually at during the NC run. I, along with 105,000+ fans chanted maurice, maurice. It is one of my most treasured buckeye memories (wich makes it one of my most trasured memories overall). I know the fallout from his allegations and so on and so on, but it will always be sad to me. so much talent, so little brains.

Mo

I think the ugly bastard got what he deserved. IF he had kept his mouth shut and finished out this time with OSU, he would have been driving a hummer about now. Instead, due to stupidity we will probably see him pumping gas somewhere soon :)

Green Bay is bringing in dudes that no one has ever heard of, and they haven't even considered Clarett at all...maybe he just needs to bitch about playing time more or yell at some coaches...that worked so well for him last time.

I've consistently said that it's more sad than any reason to be angry at him from my end...he's pissed everything away, with the help of some incredibly bad advice, and he's earned what he's gotten (and what he hasn't).

I don't hate him, and I don't feel the least bit sorry for him, either. It's his life...such as it is.

I've gotten past any anger I've had for the guy, and now just feedl sorry for him. I've said since draft day that I wish him the best. Fact is, we would not have one a nat'l title without him, and to see him throw it all away has been very painful for me. With all that God given talent, he could have been amazing, but he took bad advice, and made bad decisions every step of the way. I think we as a whole(Buckeye Nation) need to get past all the wrong he has done against our beloved university, and see him for what he is...a misguided, troubled young man. I know I for one hopes he can turn it around, and still make something out of his life...NFL or not. What a tremendous waste. He could have been one of the best to ever don the scarlett and grey. :sad2:

Beautiful.
The next few years as his life becomes a failure will be funny to watch. Few athletes deserve it more.
I have no sense of affiliation to this man who did everything to boost himself at Ohio State's expense, but there is nothing funny about Maurice Clarett, his wasted potential, or the hangers-on that encouraged him to self-destruct. We probably have not heard the end of him and it could be very ugly - not in terms of bad news for Ohio State but continued bad choices that he makes. :(

He'll probably end up like Curtis Enis, working 3rd shift at a garage door factory. Thre's definitely nothing funny about it, that's for sure.
