Who knows TSK? Tressel just announced today that Maurice will be held out of practices AGAIN! Also, made the comment that Maurice's suspension looks to be serious/long. The preliminary scuttle-butt is that Maurice did something to piss Tressel off this past Saturday. Truth is a whole lot of people know a whole lot of nothing. I'm starting to get really annoyed with the whole shooting match. Personally I'd like to forget all about it until they say Maurice can return, but the fans and media just won't let it go and focus on the team we DO have.

Someone posted over on Bucknuts that Clarett arrived in a luxury SUV with an entourage of two. If true, that would be about as stupid an entrance to make as he could.

Lets just say that it seems that mo is doing everything possible to piss off tress as much as he can. its almost as though he is trying.

i hadnt heard that it would be the full year suspension that bucknuts heard, but i was informed that he was back off the team again... for a long time. he's a distraction...and the players themselves are getting tired of his act.

I can't blame anyone for being tired of this. Instead of talking about Krenzel, Jenkins, Carter, Roy Hall, the improved OL, the best D-line in the country, AJ Hawk, Nate Salley and Brandon Mitchell, all the freshmen who saw time in their first college game, everyone is talking about the one player who has not been able to follow the rules.
I would love nothing more than to see #13 back on the field, but until then the circus that surrounds him is drawing attention away from the guys who actually deserve it.

I agree, there are somany positive things going on for our team right now. I truely hope Mo has the fortitude to work through this and earn back his spot with the team, and he doesn't get caught up with the other stuff.
This team has a chance to be something really special, and we as fans have the priviledge of watching some very very talented players perform. Let's enjoy that!

From an ESPN chat going on as I type this;
Lloyd (Houston, TX): Hey Randy, IF Maurice Clarett is able to go pro at the next NFL draft do you think many teams will be hesitant to take him. While his numbers last year were good he did miss a couple of games and only played sparingly in a few others. Plus, with his legal and academic issues doesn't that say something to teams about his committment and character that might steer teams away from him?
Randy Mueller: (3:48 PM ET ) I think he would be a very scary pick for the reasons you've stated...there will be several backs who have his physical skills and carry less baggage...
Randy is the GM for the Saints.
I know there are other personnel types in the NFL who feel much stronger about this.
Someone will snatch Mo up if he's eligible for this year's draft, but I'll still be surprised if it's on day one.

Following up on that, I have to disagree about the talent/skill thing. Mo is a one in a thousand (or more) RB in my opinion. But I think he's going to discover that he couldn't have done more damage to his draft prospects than he has with his actions over the past year.
People point to success stories like Randy Moss (in terms of players with baggage), but there are a lot of Lawrence Phillips out there as well. I don't think it's fair to draw a line between Mo and LP, but anyone interested in picking Mo up has to know they're rolling the dice.

I agree clarity. He is carrying alot of baggage. I think his tendency to injury could be a concern. Clarett has shown he doesn't make commitments to others to seriously. There are running backs in this year's draft that look like better picks than Mo especially in terms of character.

I find it difficult to compare MoC to Moss or Phillips. Moss was a troublemaker extraordinaire who also likes his "hootch." Getting booted from ND is one thing. But getting booted from FSU? Phillips was basically a criminal who was a good football player. MoC's life is pretty "clean" except for the fact that he wants "the life" that his pal LeBron is living. The problem with MoC is that he had not had a healthy season of football since junior high. Plus, his injuries have varied, not just one recurring problem.
If MC wins his suit and is declared eligible, I see him as a second day pick at best. I wouldn't be surprised if everybody passes on him just to make a point. The issue here is the Fitzgerald question, who WILL BE a top 20 pick if the rule gets tossed.

I really hope you're right, and oddly, some part of me wouldn't be shocked at all to see him back with us next year as well. I would definitely see it as a good thing under the right circumstances, and I think the right circumstances are the only way it will happen.
Mo could fix his life/career as quickly as it came tumbling down around him. That would be something to see.
There's very little one of these kids (key word IMO) can do to get us to write them off completely. I mean, it takes a Marco Cooper kind of streak -- and even then you find yourself just feeling bad for their juvenile-induced idiocy.
I'm not a Mo apologist, and if he came back, I think it would have to be with the blessing of the team as a whole -- but there's still time for him to make some decisions.
