Jeannette (Pa.) High School coach Ray Reitz said he was surprised that junior running back Jordan Hall committed to Ohio State so early because he hasn't visited many colleges.
Hall, a high school teammate of incoming Ohio State recruit Terrelle Pryor, attended a Penn State game with Pryor last fall and visited Pittsburgh. He attended OSU's "junior day" two months ago, went to the spring game Saturday and committed Monday.

Does Reitz have a bonus clause for the # of players he places at UM?

Video.

You can really see his versatility in these clips...

I had the link copied and pasted, darn you  Hall can get it done anywhere on the field but you can tell how shifty he is. I think Lamar Thomas is a good comparison, although Flash is faster. Beyond that, I really don't even think those are his best highlights anyways.

What i like about Jordan, is that although he's small.. he's built strong.. Mike Farrell actually pointed it out in one of th AMP pieces.. that his lower body is very stout and powerful... he's not the type of smaller back with skinny legs who cant run through an arm tackle..

Farrell compared him to Steve Slaton.. i dont think he's got the burst of Slaton, but it's a solid comparison in the way they are built.. small guys but very powerful and thick in the lower body..

If Im staff.. ive taking whatever position/role Lamaar Thomas lays claim to, and basically making Jordan Hall his backup...

They are very similar in the way they can make plays receiving, taking reverses, taking handoffs, working out of that zone read play, and being excellent special teams players..

Very excited about this addition

I'd be surprised if he ran even a 4.6 40 but he is just a great player. Quick change of direction, low center of gravity, sees the field, and can catch the football. Looks a lot like Mo. Maybe not as fast but runs with a little more power.

I agree...he does not have blistering fast top-end speed. However, his burst and speed off his cuts are impressive, which is where the money is. He reminds me a bit of Ray Rice from Rutgers, with better hands. I think he will be more effective than Mo' has been so far since I think Hall is good between the tackles and is more versatile.

Jeannette senior Jordan Hall has performed in the shadow of Terrelle Pryor the past two seasons.

Now, the spotlight shifts to Hall.

On a team that is loaded with talented offensive players, Hall may cause Jeannette opponents the most problems.

Hall, who will follow Pryor to Ohio State next year, did have his moments the past two seasons.

He especially stood out in the PIAA Class AA championship game against Dunmore.

In the first half, Hall accounted for four touchdowns, four different ways.

? He raced 58 yards for a touchdown on the first play of the game when he lined up a quarterback.

? He also caught a touchdown pass from Pryor, returned a punt for a score and then tossed a touchdown pass to Pryor.

Overall, Hall rushed for 128 yards and caught two passes for 37 yards.

Hall also scored the first three touchdowns in Jeannette's 41-21 victory over Wilmington in the PIAA Class AA western final.

He finished his junior season with 963 rushing yards and 22 touchdowns. He also caught 25 passes for 756 yards and 10 scores.

"Jordan is an all-around athlete," Jeannette coach Ray Reitz said. "There is nothing he can't do."

Hall said he has no regrets about making a verbal commitment to Ohio State, even though Michigan, UCLA, Maryland Pitt and Syracuse are still trying to recruit him.

"There are seven or eight teams that have offered and hope he reneges on his decision," Reitz said. "But it's his decision to make. He has to go where he feels comfortable."

Hall said Ohio State feels like the right fit.

"Coach (Jim) Tressel is a good guy," Hall said. "And I like the program. They told me I'll play running back and be a return specialist.

"We'll see what happens. Right now, I just want to win in high school again. We'd like to win another title."

JORDAN HALL
SCHOOL: Jeannette

POSITION: Running back/defensive back

HEIGHT: 5-9 WEIGHT: 181

THE SKINNY: He helped Jeannette to WPIAL and PIAA Class AA championships last season as the team's second-leading rusher with 872 yards on 103 carries and also scored 32 touchdowns.

COLLEGE TALK: Chose Ohio State in April after also considering scholarship offers from Pitt, Penn State, Michigan and Notre Dame, among others.

WOULD YOU EVER WEAR A SWEATER VEST LIKE OHIO STATE COACH JIM TRESSEL'S? Most definitely. It is a different style, but it is a great style.

THERE HAS BEEN SOME TALK ABOUT YOU PLAYING A LITTLE QUARTERBACK THIS YEAR ... TRUE OR NOT? I'll leave that up until the first game for everyone to see. But maybe you will see me a little bit there.

YOU ARE 5-9, SO WHAT DO YOU TELL THE PEOPLE WHO SAY YOU ARE TOO SMALL? Just play against me and then say that.

THE BEST HIGH SCHOOL PLAYER YOU HAVE SEEN NOT NAMED TERRELLE PRYOR? My brother. His name is Derrick Hall. He graduated [from Jeannette] in 2001. I always looked up to him when I was younger.

IT IS LATE AT NIGHT, YOU ARE HUNGRY, YOU EAT ...? I'll make a steak-and-cheese sandwich.
