RB Jordan Hall (Official Thread)

It's too bad they don't have a system that can utilize Boom and Hall together. It'd be great if they could utilize a system that flanks the QB with Boom and Hall next to a shot-gun QB in the spread.

They often use Zach Boren as a lead blocker out of the spread, but that is much easier for the defense to play against. It really doesn't put any stress on the defense to have a full-back lined up in the backfield in a spread system. Nothing against Zach, but let him block out of the I...

Bollman doesn't have a clue....it'd just be so much fun to watch an Ohio State offense that outs significant stress on the defense pre-snap.

As is, they are so vanilla and predictable the defense has nothing to worry about.

There have been a handful of plays with Berry and Carlos in the backfiled against Toledo. I think the plays are there, just need to use them.

It's pretty rare to see offensive lineman taken out of games for cramping, isn't it?

I got some wicked hip and shin cramps late in games. Never had to be taken out, but they slowed me down. I tried drinking more water, but it just made me piss more. The pickle juice makes you retain water so the only way you lose it is by sweating it out, so it is much easier to stay hydrated. Never had one cramp after I started the juice.

Someone needs to give him some pickle juice for the next game. I never had a problem with cramping after I started drinking that [Mark May] before games.

Do you, or anyone, know what Luke Fickell was getting at when he implied that Jordan's emotions played a role in his cramping? Is there a physiological or psychological basis for asserting that emotions cause cramps? I've never heard of that.

But I have heard of, and have used, the pickle-juice solution.

We don't need any other kind of scandals here for the time being.

LOTS OF HALL: The 90-yard kickoff return by Jordan Hall on Saturday was the longest of his career, though his teammates gave him a hard time for being caught from behind and getting tackled on the 5-yardline. Hall should have had a lot of comebacks for them, because he was everywhere.

It's not hard to tell that OSU offensive coordinator Jim Bollman loves Hall's game, and part of the Buckeyes' continuing growth as a offense was moving Hall around the field more. He didn't catch a pass, but he lined up wide or in the slot a fair amount as a receiving threat. He ran the ball 18 times for 84 yards and a touchdown, returned one punt for 12 yards and gained a total of 135 yards on his two kickoff returns.

So he's good -- no surprise there. But after being suspended for the first two games of the season, then being forced to the sidelines by cramps at Miami last week, this was the first time Ohio State fans really saw the junior in full effect.

"It definitely felt good to be out there the whole game because last week I felt like I let my team down because I couldn't play in the second half," Hall said.

Since day one he has performed on the field better than many thought.
Just a terrific ball player. And he'll just keep getting better! We really needed him to give this offense a spark and that's exactly what he's done.
To think he was kind of an after thought in recruiting.
