Ohio State's Jordan Hall outruns Michigan's Kevin Leach on an 85-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. It was the Buckeyes' first kick return for a touchdown this season.

Not only can Ohio State's Jordan Hall return kicks - such as his 85-yard return for a touchdown yesterday against Michigan - but it appears he also can predict the future.

"He kept telling me and telling me, 'I'm taking one of these back this season, I'm taking one back,'" quarterback Terrelle Pryor said. "He finally got it."

Hall, a sophomore who like Pryor is from Jeannette, Pa., blew open The Game with his return, a sprint up the left sideline toward the closed end of Ohio Stadium midway through the second quarter.

Michigan had just cut Ohio State's lead to 10-7 with an 80-yard touchdown drive. Seth Broekhuizen then hit a popup kickoff to Hall, avoiding a direct kick to deep back Jaamal Berry.

"Coach (Jim) Tressel always talks about special teams changing momentum," Hall said. "They had scored and I was like, 'We've got to answer back.' I saw them coming at me with the kicker's approach, and I said, 'I've got to take this to the house.'"

Happy returns

After watching the bowl games on New Year's Day, OSU sophomore Jordan Hall is more eager than ever to make an impact on Tuesday ? especially on special teams.

Hall is the primary punt and kick returner for the Buckeyes, averaging 30 yards per kick return and 10.1 yards per punt return.

"If you watch the games that were on," Hall said, "special teams made a difference in a lot of those games. Special teams will be big (on Tuesday)."

Friend to friend

Hall is a former high school teammate of OSU quarterback Terrelle Pryor in Jeanneatte, Pa., but he said he has not talked with Pryor yet about the NCAA sanctions that will force the junior quarterback to sit out the first five games of his senior season.

"I never talked to him about it," Hall said. "Maybe I'll talk to him later about it. Right now, we're focused on Arkansas."

Did someone move to fullback because if not, I don't see these two on the field at the same time.

Have you seen much of Florida's offense from the last 3 years? 2 HBs in the backfield, 2 WRs w TE or 3 WRs, and a QB that can move. It could work.

Looks like the coaches are trying to get all our playmakers on the field at the same time. I like the idea of Hall in the slot with Smith and Berry in the backfield. Hall gives us a seasoned veteran in the receiving game, which we need right now with Posey out the first 5 games. I also like the idea of Hall being a Percy Harvin like player on Offense. He may not have the skills of Harvin but can be effective in that role.
