RB Jaamal Berry (Transfer to Murray State)

I need to know from exactly what angle and the velocity at which his fist was traveling when he punched this guy unprovoked before I decide whether or not I think he should be kicked off the team.

If possible, I would also like to know how high his voice was when he bragged about it.

I would like to know what exactly transpired between the time some random dude was hit by a car and the time Jamaal Berry allegedly punched some other guy. That's the big gap in this story IMO.

That's what I'm trying to figure out. "Hey look, that guy got hit by a car! I think I'll go punch his friend."

Hmm. I'm not calling anyone innocent, and this looks bad for Berry, but this can't be the whole precursor to any assault. Well, it can be I guess, but it would be rather weird.

This begs the question of: Why did the Ohio State player cross the road?

No, he struck the victims friend, not the guy who was struck by the car. Had there not been a civil suit filed against Berry there might have been a chance to have that beer and laugh about the incident, although ESPN probably would have jumped on it saying that a bullied victim of an OSU player purchased a beer and is suspended for the next 5 games.

The story is poorly worded and indicates that he struck both the car victim AND the friend.

the victim said that Berry crossed the street and punched his friend, and then punched him in the face with a closed fist.

The alleged victim's story is that Berry hit both of them (the friend first, then the principal victim - the guy who was ostensibly hit by a car).

from the police report said:
...the victim said that Berry crossed the street and punched his friend, and then punched him in the face with a closed fist.

Both the guy who got hit by the car and the friend were punched, and unless one of them physically attacked Berry or someone that he had a duty to protect, I can't think of anything that would justify him punching them in the face.

IF this is true.

Would your opinion change if you learned they were both wearing M*ch*gan jerseys?

I have a hard time believing Jaamal punched someone in the face solely because they were hit by a car. I understand your point, but logic says there's a lot more to the story.

No one said this is what happened. The report says that Jaamal and his friend were shouting at the guy who was hit, then crossed the street and punched both of them. Whether there is more to the story or not, punching people is usually frowned upon in polite circles and by the law, except in extreme circumstances.
