RB Jaamal Berry (Transfer to Murray State)

Couldn't be less concerned...nothing more than a courtesy visit to Ole Miss with no other planned visits.

I still believe this 100%...might visit Ole Miss for a courtesy visit but there is nothing to be worried about with Berry. Word is his official could not be going better.

The Miami Herald article mentioned Berry as saying:

''We started off slow, but in the second half we came out with split backs,'' said Berry, who has committed to Ohio State and added he would be attending the Buckeyes' game against Michigan on Saturday. ``It worked to perfection, we came out with the victory, and that's all that matters.''

More from Bill Kurelic.

IMO, nothing to be worried about...he will be signing with OSU.

Jaamal had the biggest smile on his face that I'd ever seen on him in all of his games that I've been to after winning on Friday night. I have no doubt that he wanted to send a message by indicating in that Herald article that he would be attending the OSU v. Michigan game.

I give him my best wishes next week against Killian in the second round of the state playoffs.

Regardless of the impending Florida visit, Jaamal should just look at his competition in the Gator backfield. It's a crowded house (not counting his fellow incoming freshmen).

Add to that the leading ball-carrier (not Tebow) for the Gators has 74 carries in 11 games.

If he takes advantage of any opportunity given to him, he could become a premier back nationally.

Jaamal isn't signing with anyone other than OSU (test scores permitting)...I am not worried one bit.

Bill Conley seemed to be under the impression Berry was a soft verbal and was shopping. However, Conley is part of ESPN Scout Inc., and the entire outlet may be clueless.

Berry could destroy the Big Ten (if he realizes his potential).

Florida is a courtesy visit, not even in the ballpark, from everyone I've talked to down here.

The only talk I've remotely heard of is Mississippi and that I haven't heard much. The last thing I heard is that Ole Miss was still pursuing him very hard, but I have not heard a single word back from the Berry camp toward Ole Miss. And this was going back a few weeks.

Yes, Berry could do that. He is going to have a better offensive line at Ohio St. than he will at either a place like Ole Miss or Florida. And his speed is rarely seen in the Big Ten. I have rarely seen a runner come out of South Florida with as much ability above the waist to 'shake' off tacklers like flies or even carry them on his back. That was very much evident in Palmetto's playoff game Friday night and you could hear it from people in the crowd. Very entertaining. I heard people coming out of the Southwest side saying wow, that kid's the most amazing running back I've ever seen, it takes 3 guys to bring him down.

If he has designs on going to the NFL (he does), Ohio State is going to give him that visibility week in and out, plus the playing time to do so. Would anyone doubt here that Beanie is one of the most televised, if not the most televised RB in college football right now?

Now, Mississippi certainly doesn't get coverage. Even here in Florida, UF as it is known doesn't get week in, week out coverage nationally like OSU does. It usually comes one one of those regional channels like Sunshine Network or Florida Sports Channel. I usually always see OSU show up locally on the major networks. Yes, UF has a crowded backfield.

As far as Scout, nobody's perfect and that goes for Scout. A lot of the kids down here want to take trips (some have really never been much out of South Florida). You would, too. I knew some kids down here growing up and even though they were committed to going to a certain school, they wanted to see the world, especially many of those who come from underprivileged environments. I don't blame them one bit. It means the world to them.

Looks that way in Columbus, but we're a little biased here.

Can't wait for Mr. Berry to step on campus and get some time on the field. You have me unbelievably pumped for this kid. Thanks for the updates.
