RB Ezekiel Elliott (All B1G, All-American, National Champion, Pro Bowl, All Pro, Dallas Cowboys)

Whether Zeke's correct isn't the issue as much as it's bad form for players to run to the media with complaints about their coaches after a game. His frustration is completely understandable, but that wasn't the best way to handle it.

You know normally I'd agree. This time however I think it's long overdue. I mean this was game 11 and our team just got out coached. This offense has been put in a box most of the year, and the box seemed even smaller this past Saturday. Maybe it's just my scarlet colored glasses but this offense should easily have another 77 points on the season, if not double. No defense in the country should know who is going to get the ball next with this offense except for maybe Zeke, and by then it shouldn't matter. It's like if something worked they just stopped calling the play. If something didn't work they seemed to want to run it 15 more times. The phrase "Keys to the Ferrari" have been thrown around a lot over the last couple years. I ask what Ferrari? I haven't seen one for quite some time. I'm not even sure I've seen the family truckster tbh.

Ok rant is over.

Dear Zeke,

Please be quiet the rest of the week and then on Saturday feel free to rush for more yards than anyone else has ever done in the history of THE GAME.

Much Love,

HorseshoeFetish

I don't like what he said and when he said it. But it's hardly the end of the world. The concerning thing for me is his silence since the comments. Figured he would have publicly backtracked by now.

I figure he was politely told to keep his mouth shut on Sunday.

Yeah I just searched the usual sites expecting an apology tweet or something to that nature. Nothing so far..

Public apology to who? He criticized the coaching staff. I'm confident it's now become a private matter between coaches and players as it should be. He certainly doesn't owe the fans an apology for anything.

I think my definition of what calling somebody out means should be clear from what I posted.....since you're big on reading comprehension and everything. But if you feel like being lazy and not figuring it out on your own, good news! You don't even have to! Because, for the third fucking time, whatever you want to call what you posted...calling out or otherwise.....it's not fair to Zeke since he was playing against a stacked deck. Play semantics with the definition of "calling out" all you want (and let's be super honest here.....what you posted fits Oxfords definition that you just posted), you still should be able to get the gist of what I'm saying.

Nowhere did I call critical attention to someone's unacceptable actions or behavior. Per Oxford, I didn't call Zeke out, as you claimed. Read between the lines, my man, and you'll see that if anything, I was complimenting Zeke--mentioning the line getting its ass kicked and saying it wasn't his fault, I was implying (if not directly stating) it's difficult for him to get yards when he's getting hit by three green helmets at or behind the line of scrimmage.

I'm sure you'll respond again, as that's your way of going at things around here, and by all means, feel free. But I'm finished with this conversation. You accused me of calling Zeke out based on some fabricated notion of what it means to call someone out. Oxford disagrees. Peace.

I don't really know or care who's arguing what here, but using "Oxford" (as in England) to define an American colloquial phrase is not, um, definitive.

Oh, good grief! I understand one of you is "staff", but wouldn't you normally have moved this discussion out of the thread by now?
Seriously, you guys: I have an Ignore button and I'm not afraid to use it.

Then I misunderstood your post. Wasn't that easier than arguing over the semantics of what "called out" means, when my point remained the same regardless of what words were used?

What the hell does that mean? It's my way around here to reply to comments? Maybe I've got this whole "Internet Mesageboard" thing wrong....because I kind of thought that was the point. Maybe I'll hop on over to Oxford.com to see if they can help me out.

Your comment could have been taken at least two ways. Taken your way, you weren't calling Zeke out (you were calling the line or the play calling out....which I agree with). Taken my way, you were calling Zeke out.

Feel free to use it, then. This is a message board. The messages were on topic. There's plenty of shit I don't want to wade through when reading different threads. That doesn't mean I'm going to complain until the website fits my desires.
