Ezekiel Elliott (right) of John Burroughs follows a hole made by Jackson Maritz for a long gain in the Bombers' win over Priory on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012 at John Burroughs School in Ladue, Mo. (Fred Wilke | STLhighschoolsports.com)

four touchdowns from senior running back Ezekiel Elliott made up the crooked number for the Bombers, who are the No. 2 team in the STLhighschoolsports.com small-schools rankings.

John Burroughs head coach Gus Frerotte said improvements need to be made, but he was happy with the well-rounded performance on both sides of the ball.

?Zeke (Elliott) is going to get his touches, but we got a lot of other guys making plays on offense, defense and especially special teams,? Frerotte said. ?They set the tone for the whole day yesterday (Friday) when we get a big return at the beginning of the game and then we get a turnover and then another special teams play where we block a punt. It?s those kinds of things that really make a team good.?

?It was definitely a lot different, it just kind of messes up your whole routine,? Elliott said. ?We responded well, we held on and all that matters is we won the game.?
Elliott complimented the special teams unit well by breaking a 47-yard touchdown run, then cashed in on a pair of runs at the goal line and broke another touchdown run for 41 yards.

?This game, our special teams showed up real big, we had a lot of big returns, we had two blocked punts,? Elliott said. ?Special teams put up a lot of points. Special teams might have put up more than half our points today.?

Him and Marshall are going to be lethal in this offense. We can move them around the field to confuse the defense. Both could play either WR or RB. Theres alot of things you can do with these two.

Agreed. I can see how our Offense is missing Jordan Hall this season, and it's nice we have Jalin and Zeke to look forward to in the future.
