RB Ezekiel Elliott (All B1G, All-American, National Champion, Pro Bowl, All Pro, Dallas Cowboys)

My boy. I love how #30 took an angle from hell on him on that counter and still could not get him.

And they need to run more traps with multiple players pulling. It worked great in the championship run and we have pretty much run it at will against our opponents so far. Yet we have rarely seen in this year. Anyways, awesome game for Zeke.

Someone here said that EZE might be the best OSU RB ever. I've only been watching OSU football since 2000 or so with sprinklings here and there but...yeah I think I'm ready to call EZE the best OSU RB that I've seen. He just does EVERYTHING so well and he gives 100% effort on every play. Love this kid to death.
I said it, and I'm not ashamed to say it again. I enjoy watching him with or without the ball. I get tunnel vision watching him play at times.

I (like a lot of people) have thought it would be nice if we could develop a more consistent #2 back to save Zeke some carries, especially in games where realistically we don't really need him on the field at all times to win, so he's fresh at the end of the year.

But looking at his carries he's not at a crazy pace compared to last year. Last year he had 115 carries through 7 games, this year 148.

Still think it would be beneficial in the long run if we could get Dunn or Weber or whoever on the field more to spell Zeke a little bit but I understand the coaches' dilemma: it's hard to take a special player off the field.

Curtis Samuel needs more touches out of the backfield.

Like 10 more per game.

When the last two games come
I expect the gameplan will change from getting touches for all our playmakers to insure we win. Zeke and the OL will become more of a focus play calling will be less random. Right now Urban is trying to keep everyone engaged through this grinding part of the season. The MSU and scum games start the fun part of they year for players and coaches. The Coaches are still occupied by recruiting.but unlike Rutgers and others the opponent will become the focus.

Luckily we have other options when JT is in the game to take away some of the tackles on Zeek.

Looking at Fournette in comparison to Zeke, Fournette has went overy 25 carries 4 out of 6 games. Elliott on the other hand has only topted 25+ carries 2 timessage in 7 games.

The coaching staff has been smart enough to keep his rep range low in blowout games, and not once has he had 30 carries (Fournette went for 31 against Florida). Being smart about low reps will keep him fresh down the stretch.

I don't think it's a coincidence that Elliott was healthy and fresh enough to go off the way he did in the playoffs. A zone read option will certainly be a benefit to us down the stretch.

Zeke Stats:
167 carries, 1130 rushing yards, 6.76 YPC, 141.25 YPG, 13TD, in 8 Games

Leonard Fournette stats:
176 carries, 1343 yards, 7.63 YPC, 191.85 YPG, 15 TD, in 7 Games

Zeke has Minnesota, Illinois, MSU, and Michigan left to add to those stats.

Fournette has Alabama, Arkansas, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M left to add to his stats.

The Heisman race could be nearly dead even (slight edge to Fournette with his YPG) by the time November 28th comes.
