Stats do matter w/the Heisman. That's been gone over before -- it's all about the video game stats these days. Whoever has the most wins and most obscene numbers on offense tends to get it.
Not always true.
When Troy won it in 2006 he had 2,542 yards, and 30 TD. Brady Quinn had nearly 1,000 more yards and 7 more TD. Despite Brady having almost 3,500 passing yards in one season, McFadden placed above him with only rushing for 1,600 yards and 14 TD.
That season as we know the Buckeyes went undefeated until the NCG, while ND had 2 losses. This is why I say winning all your games can overshadow somebody outperforming you in stats.
