RB Daniel "Boom" Herron (Official Thread)

That was a good pop where John Starks might say "Did dat dude just did dat?"

Boom definitely laid down the hammer...however, the guy who got mauled was also a Buckeye so it's always a double-edged sword to see that during fall practice.

Surprised no one has commented on the "Boom," Herron put on someone during that goal-line drill they showed on the BTN preview special. Can't remember who he put it to, but he put the LB to the ground. I jumped out of my seat and started marching around the room humming The Buckeye Battle Cry with my air trumpet like I was part of TBDBITL.........ok maybe I didn't do all that but it did make me say "DAMN I CANT WAIT FOR KICKOFF." :oh:

It's probably because we are used to it, given that millions already witnessed 'the fall of taylor mays'. Boom was act 1, Dane act 2.

Edit: it was newsome?

The fall camp thread has it as Dan Bain getting rolled.

The running backs and linebackers went against each other during a goal-line drill, and both sides had their moments. Herron absolutely trucked Dan Bain on one play, living up to his "Boom" nickname.

Ohio State running back Dan Herron: A-

Herron ran for two touchdowns for the third time in his career while gaining 27 yards on nine carries. But this grade isn't based only on his offense.

With the Ohio State coverage units struggling, Herron joined the punt-cover unit Saturday, as backup running backs Jordan Hall and Jaamal Berry pitched in on the kickoff coverage. The coverage units weren't perfect against Ohio, but getting savvy offensive players onto the field should help the coverage cause.

"The coaches asked me if I wanted to do it and I was all for it," Herron said. "Whatever I can do to help the team, I went out and did my job. I think I'm a pretty good tackler, and I was hoping one time I could get down there and get a tackle. Hopefully I'll be in there more often and maybe I'll make a couple tackles."

His video reminded me a bit of Michael Hart. He has that same kind of running motion like his body is a step behind his head. He is going to be a great one. Would love to see him in Columbus but I imagine there is going to be some pull toward Michigan as well.

Hmmmm...

Do I ding this or just give it an infraction for Buckeye Bashing?

Looks like someone else had this opinion about 5 years ago.
