I don't know if you guys noticed, but early in the game (first or second possesion for the East), when Percy Harvin ran that reverse Chris Wells made an awesome pancake block on some linebacker. He hit him and completely decleated him. What an awesome player we are getting.

Pittman isn't going to give up his starting position.
Wells is as advertised, fantastic.
I liked his lowered pad , inside running.
I think he could come up big in Austin.
Agree %100....yet Wells, after this showing today, will (with Spring at tOSU) garner a great deal of the coaches attention- I can not see this guy not challenging AP and in turn making AP better....
He seems too accomplished to not see the field. Let the cream rise!!!!!!:osu:

I could possibly agree more. I was thinking that myself today as I was watching Beanie run all over people that Pittman was himself watching the game and thinking, "Damn, I'd better bust my ass to keep the starting job." Which is going to mean Pittman will be even better than his normal progression. I think having two 1,000-yard backs is very possible (Tressel had that in 1991 at YSU).
I could possibly agree more. I was thinking that myself today as I was watching Beanie run all over people that Pittman was himself watching the game and thinking, "Damn, I'd better bust my ass to keep the starting job." Which is going to mean Pittman will be even better than his normal progression. I think having two 1,000-yard backs is very possible (Tressel had that in 1991 at YSU).

Pittman made great strides from his freshman year but to deny that Wells is even now a better and more dangerous back is wrong.
Watching him today was like watching a man among boys, or as someone said in an earlier thread, It looks like a 5 year NFL vet running out there.
That kind of explosive speed, combined with that size and strength is a very rare thing and I cannot believe he will waste much, if any time watching from the sidelines.
I just coudn't believe it on a couple occasions when he took the run to the outside. He explodes. Once he was suppose to run between the right tackle and guard, stopped, changed direction (no hole) and simply out ran everybody to the outside. Did anyone see the defensive player for the West raise his arms and shake his head as if to be saying, "What are we suppose to do?" Can't say for sure that is what he was saying, but to my wife and I we thought it looked as if that was the case.
By the Texas Game, I'll bet he's getting 75% of the carries
