i would love to believe this, but if Beanie has the kind of season we all think he will, i'll be shocked and honestly a little concerned if he comes back.

i mean, i'd obviously be estatic, but i know a small part of me would be screaming "ARE YOU CRAZY?!? YOU'VE EARNED IT, GET PAID, SON"

I've said it earlier...do NOT be shocked if he comes back for his senior year, especially if he wins the Heisman. Let's say we win the Big Ten outright, win the national title, and Beanie rushes for 1,800 yards and wins the Heisman. Coming back for his senior year, he'd have to opportunity to:

1. Be only the second two-time Heisman winner
2. Become Ohio State's all-time rushing leader
3. Be outright Big Ten champ all four of his years at Ohio State
4. Go 4-0 against Michigan

No amount of money can replace that. He'll "get paid" soon enough. Money comes and goes, but becoming legendary is only once in a lifetime...

If he played just about any other position than RB in the Big-10, I could see it.

It's not like it;'s an unheard of thing for a player to come back , now is it.
Beanie has said all alone he is returning and he has to already know what he could earn next year so have a little faith in the guy.
I know that money , or the promise of it can be a huge lure but don't be so quick to dismiss what he or any other player says.
If he says he is coming back this vehemently then I choose to believe him. :oh:

He's a RB and a projected top 5 pick. I'll believe it when I see it.

I'm only going to make one speculation on why he stays, Beanie will get drafted. This isn't Leinhart not entering his junior year and dropping from 1 to 9 or whatever he was. Beanie is a freak specimen, it doesn't matter if he comes out this year or next, he's still going top five. 6'1'' 235 lb 4.45ish Running backs with good vision and stregnth don't just happen every year.
I hope he does what he wants in his heart and not fear of dropping the next year. If that means in his heart he wants the challenge of the NFL then I'm for it as well as staying, finishing his education, and experiencing what it's like to be a senior in college I'm for it as well.

MLBs take as much pounding, if not more, than a RB. Laurinaitis was a projected top 5 pick and he came back for his senior year, and he can't set near the records that Beanie could. You say, "I'll believe it when I see it"...well, keep your eyes peeled.

Not to mention being a surefire member of the Ring of Honor if he wins a Heisman.

So you're counting on Beanie to come back if he wins the b10, unprecedented 5th straight win over UM, picks up hardware in NYC, and a NC ring to boot?

Is that you're stance? Or are you just saying what could happen?

Legend status is very achievable this season.

I've said not to be be stunned if he comes back. Virtually everyone is saying he's a lock to leave early especially if he wins the Heisman. I'm saying it's not as clear-cut as most think.

You consider Eddie George and Troy George as "legendary" as Archie Griffin? Not even close. If Beanie wins two Heismans and beats Michigan four times, I think he'll rival Archie himself in legand status...

If Troy wins the title? Yes. At least in the discussion, if just a little below.

Beanie's legend/prestige will extend to the NFL with a high draft pick and one would assume a successful career... something Archie did not have.

Do you think they wish to give out a second heisman? That's a pretty big caveat here too.

The more I think about this quote from Tressel's press conference, the more impressed I become.

And as a person, I think he's done a very good job with -- obviously there's a lot more attention paid to him today than there was a year ago today, yet I think he's done a good job keeping his eyes on the task at hand. One of the things that he wanted to accomplish going into last year was to be an Academic All-Big Ten player, to position himself to be so, and he did, and one of the things he talked a lot about this year was he wanted to maintain that because anybody can be something once and he wanted -- and he did, and so I think a lot of things -- he's thinking the right things about all the various things that are happening in his life, but it's tough when you get as much attention as he's going to get both in numbers of people trying to tackle you, there will be a lot of attention on him and on people wanting to talk to you and have you thinking further out than you should be thinking.

I'd like to see a coach from another school talk about their Heisman hopeful superstar and even mention grades. Knowing the depth of character possessed by Tressel, Beanie, Robo, Boeckman, Laurinaitis, etc. makes me proud to be a Buckeye fan, no matter how many games we win.

(Though the wins are pretty sweet, too!)
