RB Chris "Beanie" Wells (All B1G, All-American)

No way he stays, but if he actually played through his senior season he could leave Columbus as the best running back in Buckeye history. Think about that for a minute. Archie would have the most Heismans but Beanie could have everything else but Pete Johnsons TD record! :yow1:

The lure of the NFL is too great though and I dont see him staying after his Heisman year next season.

IF he feels he's ready for it, he should go. Running backs only have so many years to be productive.

Personally I think he's one of the few players that were ready at the end of his sophomore year (McFadden is the other recent player like this).....

I agree. As a running back, 1 year is a huge deal. Lot's of mileage on these young gents.

I'd also add Adrien Peterson to your list of recent sophmores ready to leave.

I hope he does go pro after next year... I'd love to see him in an OSU jersey through 09'-10' but the way he runs and punishes people he needs to get his money while he can. He seems to be more durable than AP though atleast upper body wise.

Beanie has 2,185 yards in two seasons (576, 1609). To break Archie's career rushing record of 5,589 yards, he'd need 3,404 yards over his final two years (1,702 per season). If his ankle and wrist heal up over this off-season, he could very well challenge the 2,000-yard barrier and put him within relatively easy striking distance of Archie's record. If he does indeed rush for around 2,000 yards and we lose no more than one regular season game, I'd say he gets the Heisman. Now, with a chance at being only the second person ever to win two Heismans and a chance to become Ohio State's all-time leading rusher, anyone who thinks Beanie wouldn't seriously, seriously consider staying for his senior year doesn't know him very well. Becoming a two-time Heisman winner and the all-time rusher at "three yards and a cloud of dust" U is something on which you can't put a dollar amount.

I don't think he'll stay for his senior season. Lol I know its not the most reliable indicator but on facebook he lists his "graduation" year as '09. I came in the same year as him (2006), and that makes our graduation year 2010. Meaning this is probably his last season barring something crazy happening.

What Beanie really needs is a quarterback who knows how to throw the deep ball. What really hurt him is that this season the opposing teams didn't have to worry about Boeckman throwing deep....let's face it, he has of the worst deep balls we've seen in a long time. If he develops, or is overtaken by Henton, that threat will open more holes. If you remember the NC game, LSU did not feel the least bit threatened by either Boeckman's ability or our receivers ability to out run them. Beanie's perfomances will improve if there is more than one threat to worry about. :oh:

The LSU game is a bad indicator of what you're trying to prove. It didn't matter if LSU felt threatened or not, they still couldn't stop Beanie Fucking Wells. (My new name for him, right up there with Aaron Fucking Boone and Bucky Fucking Dent) BFW got 146 yards on 20(!?!?!?! where the fuck were the carries!?!?!?!?!?!) for an average of 7.3. Even if you take away that ridiculous 65 yard run, he still averaged a very respectable 4.3 ypc.

I do get your point. OSU needs a QB that can open things up, just saying the LSU thing isn't the best indicator.
