RB Chris "Beanie" Wells (All B1G, All-American)

The thing is, Beanie wants the ball. Any doubt by anyone about his toughness or determination quickly vanished in the second half of the Wisconsin game. Gawd, I'd just love to see Beanie just run the ball down LSU's throat time after time after time...

got a chubby for him? lol jk bud. I'm just going to resound what everyone else knows; LSU is in for a large surprise at the speed, agility and physicality Beanie is going to be bringing. If he runs with that pissed off authority directly at LSU - somebody is getting hurt...

Damn straight! I hope from play one he goes right at Dorsey and sets the tone for the game.

Attrition of the season piled on by that game. Also, remember McFadden needed 3 overtimes to put up his yards on the LSU defense. I think Wells will get close to the century mark, I just do not see him going for 150+.

LSU has seen a Wells type of runner. HB 24 Anthony Dixon 6-1 240 runs about a 4.5. Dixon is an absolute monster and very responsible for most of State's wins this year. Granted, State's OLine is not as good as OSU, but I do not think LSU will be afraid to tackle Wells in the 1st or 4th quarter as suggested in an earlier post. The key to managing Dixon's power was 8 in the box, get up 2 scores and make the opponent throw the ball. Once you have that situation, pin your ears back and get after the QB. The best defense against a Wells type runner is put pts on the board and make that team throw the ball. I really think OSU will need to pass successfully to setup the run for Wells.

I looked it up and Dixon runs a 4.67 and Wells runs a 4.52. That is basically night and day in 40 times. If the battle is between LSU's d-line and Beanie, I will take LSU's d-line because that means our o-line is getting whipped. I suspect the battle will mostly be between OSU's o-line and LSU's d-line, and Beanie will be battling the LSU backfield. In that case, I put my money on Beanie. Underestimate him at your own peril.

I'd like nothing more from the first play of the game than for Beanie to meet Steltz and drive him 3 yards backwards.

One of my favorite quotes from the 2002 BC game was from Mike Doss. He was asked when he realized that Ohio State could handle Miami's offense in the game and he stated that it was when he hit McGhahee in the hole and McGhahee went backwards.

I look forward to something similar in this game.

Three yards and a cloud of dust... uh turf filler or whatever they call that granular rubber shit. Make Woody proud...
