RB Carlos "El Guapo" Hyde (Official Thread)

This makes the Berry scare this summer all the more frightening. Unless he finds a way to go to another state to take the test sooner, his results won't come until October... i'm thinking a grayshirt should be in order.

The next available date in any state is September 12th.

Can't he just get a certificate or something?

If scUM finds a way to get a kid in that didn't even graduate...can't we find a way to get Carlos in if all he needs is a lil higher ACT :P

*im not serious on this issue, just another chance to take a shot at tsun*

You usually can check your scores a week after testing for a fee of (around) 10$. I'm assuming he will do that but I'm not sure that would speed things up with admissions. It's absolutely insane that the next test date is that late. It is also insane that he wasn't advised to retake the test with an ACT score under 17, regardless of what his GPA was. I know there is a sliding scale but even if it was close you would think he would have retaken it to be sure. This is disappointing for sure, I definitely saw playing time for Hyde this fall. Perhaps Homan or Martin can get some of the "bruiser" totes now?

Not good news, whichever way you read that article.

Hoping for the best for him and the advice given from Columbus is exactly right, keep working out, stay focused. Great shame he misses out on the USC date, but the ACT is more important.

A friend of mine has a daughter who had a 3.6 GPA, 26 ACT and lots of activities on her HS resume. She did not get into OSU despite a very excellent HS. She is going to Miami OH. The bar keeps getting higher at tOSU. Athletes get a little benefit, but they too will have to raise the bar. I'm glad im not trying to get into OSU. I'd have no chance..short, fat, slow, bad grades etc. :( Good luck Carlos getting in or getting into the right school.

I just want the kid to end up at OSU. In situations like these, it can become really iffy.

I'm not as worried about Herron and Saine though (especially with Pryor back there as a threat). Saine is looking better, and Herron is going to be a very good one. Berry needs to contribute though...

saine has to stay healthy. i want to see all this speed we have heard so much about. we need him to contribute...hyde provided depth as a nice big back. berry needs to be able to contribute now from the get go...osu is one injury away at running back from being in trouble

We still have Boom, Saine, Berry, Martin, Hall, Homan, Pryor. We will be fine. A pair and a spare is all you need.
