RB Carlos "El Guapo" Hyde (Official Thread)

2009 ESS Rankings

Elite Scouting Florida Top 100
41)Carlos Hyde-Naples-RB/FB-6’0-220-(Committed to Ohio State)-Hyde is a big, power back that can punish a defense. He is more of a between the tackles runner that will pick up the tough yards. After wearing a defense down all game long, Hyde is capable of breaking off some long runs. He is heading to the perfect conference (Big 10) where his running style will fit in well.

Naples 36, Cape Coral 35

Hyde scores 2-point conversion with no time remaining

DAN DELUCA ? [email protected] ? September 20, 2008

Naples fullback Carlos Hyde reached the goal line, then slammed into a pair of Cape Coral tacklers with bad intentions.

?I just pushed myself to get in; I told myself there?s no way we?re losing this game,? Hyde said.

The 6-foot-1, 230-pound senior did indeed bull his way into the end zone for a decisive 2-point conversion with no time left, lifting the Golden Eagles to a thrilling, 36-35 victory over the visiting Seahawks Friday at Staver Field.

Could be the best "back" in Florida. Love this kid!

He would have to show me quite a bit more ability to make people miss and lateral speed before I would put him in that echelon.

With that said, he is more than good and what he seems to be built for which is power, straight line speed, and the ability to absorb a tackle or two. If he can make continue to make that "one cut and go" I think he will be more than successful.

Either way, I'm happy to have him.

Even if he isn't, we still could be getting the one that is, and combined w/Hyde, well then, we DO get the very best back(s) in Florida. I just can't wait to have him here and KNOW that, oh by the way, we WILL be picking up that first(and that RZ TD) any time we feel like it, thank you very much.
