RB Bri'onte Dunn (dismissed from team)

I know there are things that are unsure and questionable but I'm disappointed that Brionte isn't showing the amount of loyalty the other recruits have had. They haven't schedule other visits (especially not for our biggest rival) or once think about de-committing.

Hopefully Urban can lock him up and he's still a buckeye.

At the same time, the influence of scUM football in northern Ohio cities is ridiculous. He's got plenty of people from both sides in his ear right now. Let's let this play out, and he will decide where he will fit in the best. (which is hopefully the good guys)

What are your thoughts on Dodson, Pittman, Schutte and Williams taking visits to OSU?

I want Brionte as much as anyone, but last time I check, he will be the person that will have to live with this decision.

Honestly, I don't know. I know there is no true thing as a commitment until signing day but I would guess other fanbases would think we poached their recruits. But this is a business

If Brionte goes to scUM, fine but he'll be ticking off alot of us. Just like how those guys would screw their teams fanbases.

But i guess we wouldn't care if they were buckeyes.

But I can't help but be worried by the large amount of carries that he's had at the prep level. I've seen a number of games where he's rushed 40+ times which is a lot for a pro, let alone a high schooler.

Dunn had ~240 carries his SR year in 9 regular season games. Nearly 30 carries per game... 1470 yards and 18 TD

As a JR, he had 357 carries for 2,003 yards and 22 TDs in the regular season.

So in the past 2 years, that's 600 carries, or 31.4 carries PER GAME

It's college football. If we can't get over one recruits decision to play for a certain team, it's time to start posting on a board that doesn't involve recruiting. It's the name of the game.

I don't find this to be true at all. Quite the opposite actually. In Toledo, I absolutely believe this is true.

However, in NEO, like Canton (where Brionte is from), Akron, and Cleveland, it's like Columbus north. All VERY pro-Buckeye.

Brionte's loyalty has to be first to himself. This whole line of reasoning troubles me greatly - young athletes need to consider themselves and their families primarily, and the school needs to be chosen based on how good a fit it is for them and their skill set.

I can't be upset if Brionte Dunn thinks he will develop better somewhere else; Urban Meyer will build a winning team here whether it includes Dunn or not. (But don't get me wrong - I want it to include him!)

Yeah I agree. I'm from Toledo and that place has always seemed 50/50 scUM / tOSU. Of course, after this years game it is more like 75 / 25 as many skunkbears seem to have awakened from their 7 year coma.

But it makes sense honestly. Toledo is 45 minutes from scUM (directly South of it, in fact) and almost 3 hours from cbus. Toledo also literally borders the state of meatchicken. But go just a bit East or South and it's buckeye country.

Of course, I'm speaking of general fandom rather than recruiting influence (though really the two go hand in hand in this case).

I agree 100%.

Dunn is a kid who seems to be easily swayed. It could literally come down to who has the last chance in his ear. The recent update sounded the best for OSU so far.
Like some have said, one kid won't make or break a recruiting class. Offensive tackle and LBer are huge needs in this class. Every else is gravy.

I disagree with that statement that he's easily swayed. I think Dunn is looking out to see what schools offense will fit him the best. I can't blame him for that. He wants a pro style, power I system because he doesn't see himself utilized well in the spread. Dunn seems like he needs a large number of carries and he needs to wear down defenses. No problem with that, but I think urban is trying to let him know he can be successful in either, and honestly be far healthier and fresher in our new system as opposed to constantly taking a beating at scum like he does now. But at the end of the day it's his decision and osu will be fine either way since its not like we really NEED rbs at this point. We just need 2 to step up and prove themselves
