RB Bri'onte Dunn (dismissed from team)

Not to disagree but that type of back is going to play under Hoke too.
True..but either he or his father has also made a comment or two about bowl games and championships....Hoke comes up a bit short on both of those...as does UM in the last decade.

I'm not suggesting Dunn is not interested in UM...but some times the simple answer is the best answer: if the NCAA doesn't bring the hammer to Tressel..Dunn is a buckeye. IF they do..then Dunn is going to reconsider.

JMO..but it makes all kinds of sense to me and appears to be the simplest scenario. If JT isn't here..he will have a feel for the other school(s) he is interested in..and if there is a new OSU coach that Dunn doesn't connect with..he has options. He is being prudent..but IMO still a Buckeye barring any major changes at OSU as a result of the investigation.

Right? Tell me I am right. :paranoid:

I really like Dunn and Ball as big backs. Tressel loves these kind of big backs that can really run.

Sale.....sale.....sale....Iam not all in....not even close. This is a guy who doesnt have a winning record as a head coach. I dont see any other way to do it. I would imagine this works on kids much more so than parents. Interesting to see what happens in ann arbor if he doesnt do much better than RR...which is my prediction. He will be a 7-5....8-4.....etc kind of coach. Although it seems he has surrounded himself with better coaches than RR. The next 3 or 4 years should be interesting. Go Bucks

Besides the low numbers of recent commitments, the other eye-opening recruiting development was the news that running back Brionte Dunn of Canton GlenOak, who committed to OSU last year, decided to visit Michigan. Could the Buckeyes be taking a step back in their class of 2012?
"No, he's 100 percent committed to Ohio State," GlenOak coach Scott Garcia said. "He just wanted to go out and see some other places, kind of compare different places and different facilities."
Garcia said the NCAA investigation "hasn't been an issue at all" with Dunn.

Fellow Buckeyes RB commit Bri'onte Dunn, a Watch List member from Canton (Ohio) GlenOak who also committed in September 2010, is also sticking with Ohio State.

"We haven't even discussed it yet," said Brian Dunn said, Bri'onte's father. "We know what's happened and Ohio State has got to go through what they have to go through. It's hard because we had a pretty good relationship with Coach Tressel, including me. We have made no decisions yet. I know Bri'onte understands what's going on and things are pretty crazy. I am sure his phone is blowing up. Ohio State was always his first choice and at this point he's still committed to Ohio State."

Running back Bri'onte Dunn from Canton GlenOak visited Michigan a few weeks ago but then reaffirmed his commitment to Ohio State. He did so again on Monday, telling the Canton Repository that he was still on board.

But Dunn clearly is kicking tires. He plans to visit Penn State, as well.

Sam Webb: Bill, no one has been as tied in to the Brionte Dunn recruitment more than you. He also reiterated his commitment to Ohio State a few days ago, but I recall a New York Times article where both the kid and his dad were pretty outspoken about how much their view of Ohio State would be affected by Tressel being let go and potential NCAA sanctions. Where do you think things really stand with Dunn right now, and how does Michigan fit into his recruiting picture?

Bill Greene: I think Michigan absolutely has a legitimate shot at Brionte Dunn. I think Penn State would be appealing to him too. I would not be surprised to him take official visits in the fall regardless of him reaffirming his commitment to Ohio State two days ago. I think there is still some uncertainty there. I would never call into question a kid's statement that everything is fine and he is 100 percent committed, but I think we will see him on a few other campuses before he signs his letter of intent. Early on in the process when he talked Alabama, Florida, and those schools, I never really saw Brionte as a kid that would go a thousand miles from home. I just do not think he is that type of kid. I think any of the schools in the Midwest that can sell him on an I-formation, power running game has got a shot. I would put Michigan as the No. 1 competitor for Ohio State for Brionte Dunn and I would say Penn State is right there too. He said he's also going to visit Penn State.
