RB Antonio Pittman (Official Thread)

Pittman did hurt his quad against Cincy, but with all of our injuries to the DB's last week we took more underclassmen, meaning Pittman would not go. Now with Joe not playing up to par and Johnson starting over Schnitker I would guess Pittman would travel and not see the field unless its an emergency.

Regarding the hush-hush attitude about Pittman, does anyone else ever feel like maybe Tressel is very "stubborn" and may hold a bit of a "grudge". You don't have to agree but I was feeling that from his comments and actions about Troy earlier when he spoke up about his feelings and have thought similarly in other instances. If he does it doesn't necessarily mean he is wrong just unforgiving sometimes. Thats not necessarily bad either.

Today's Dispatch reported that Pittman sustained a hip flexor during the PSU game. On the following Monday he said it was fine and didn't report for treatment, then on Tuesday he was too hurt to practice. It's thought that he was/is in the doghouse and could/can play.

i didnt know pittman played in the PSU game. im probly mixing that game up with something else.

RB Antonio Pittman (official thread)

Seems to me that Pittman is our best back. He is averaging 6 yards a carry this season. Mid way through the second half he was at 60 carries for the season and 366 yard (though I am not sure what he finished the game with after that stat), he is tremndously effective and his stats show it. Why has it taken so long to get him more reps? I hope he is the main guy Sat, because he is the best optin we have at RB. And when will Troy Smith realize that he is not always the primary runner when running the option. Seems like he thinks he should always run it unless he is about to be tackled. His first ptich to Pittman was a 20+ yard run. Then, he failed tp pitch it t Ginn on first and goal. Seems like he thinks its his unless it is taken away from him. He is not our bext runner and he needs to learn that.

Yeah, you have to have a run oriented offensive to have a featured back....our line isn't mean or very tough it seems.....maybe some Weasel smack on gameday will wake them up to the stinking reality...???

Yeah this is the thing that gets me. We have absolutely no identity whatsoever. One game the plan will be to run the ball and that is all we do, one game it will be give the ball to ginn and that is all we do, one game it is go over the top to Holmes and that is all, and then the other games you can't even tell what they are trying to do.

Football is so god damn simple. I mean the one play on saturday when teddy was lined up against the lb. Throw the ball up smith. He has got to realize this. One of the fastest guys on your team and he is against a lb. Are you kidding me.

When you spread them out and they move their lb's out please run between the tackles. When they put 9 in the box plz playaction and hit the te or the receiver who comes on the slant and is then gone. When they man up on your recievers plz throw the ball over the top to an open reciever.

When they load up inside go outside. It is like a game of chess, If they make an attack you counterattack. Also it is not all the offensive cordinator. The play I talked about above TS should have recognized Ginn had him beat by 5 yds. right off the line. Also when they come with a blitz he has got to know who the hot read is, You throw where the blitz comes from. Not just see blitz tuck it and run.

Another thing in the games when we actually did run the ball and the backside end would make the play in the backfield, plz playaction and roll out. Then there is ten yards or more. They need to learn that this game is simple. I believe tressel is out thinking himself. That whole ginn lined up in the backfield thing was stupid. They figured out how to cover it in two plays and then it was useless. Why not fake the pass to him and run a damn streak with the te up the middle of the field where the safety would vacate when the pass was faked to ginn. God damn i could go on and on and on, but until they start to figure these things out it ain't gonna happen.

Also they need to line up this week say we are the motherfuckin' Ohio State University and we are going to run the fucking ball down your throat. I know there is no way in hell this is going to happen but i don't know why it couldnt, our guys should be able to.
