RB Antonio Pittman (Official Thread)

The Bears have Hester, I doubt the reasoning to draft him was punt returns.

I didn't consider that. So what do they expect from him then? I mean, the guy is 5'7". Do they really think he can handle a better work load than AP? I doubt he can block better. I know AP has no durability issues. So what is it?

I wouldn't be suprised if AP is the top or near the top of the guys who go in day 2. Everyone has had a chance to sit back and see what has been missed. When a team wakes up and sees he is still sitting there, someone is going to have a big smile on their face and know they got a steal.

I am just stunned at some of the RB that have come off the board before AP. Tony Hunt? Garrett Wolfe? No disrespect, but Wolfe is getting drafted only on the hope that he can do in the NFL something he didn't do in college which is return punts. And Hunt, seriously is it possible NLF scouts see more in him than in AP?

I know my eyes are blinded by scarlet and grey, but damn. I have to be missing something big.

The Eagles were in need of a power back to complement Westbrook. It was Hunt or Bush, and Hunt isn't already damaged goods. Hunt fits what the Eagles need, Pittman doesn't.

I have no idea, I don't agree with the pick, I just don't think with Hester that punt returns was a big concern.

The only thing I can think of is they think that Wolfe can play more of Reggie Bush type of role then Pittman can? They already have a bruiser (Duece McCallister) in Benson, I guess they want someone to catch the screens?

I wish they drafted Pittman and was shocked they didn't, but i've forced myself to try and think of why.

I was shocked when Booker came off the board, wasn't he in the 5+ in the 40 time? Very dissapointing, but I hope he brings it next season!!!!

I hope he does well, but was it his agent telling writers his stock was going up just last week? Hopefully, he will be drafted by a team with a good situation ala Anthony Gonzalez. Anthony should thrive with the Colts. The Bears saw Bush in the playoffs and hope Wolfe can be their third and long back. Also Benson is not much of a receiver.

I'm happy that Pittman is off the board -- and moreso that they thought well enough of him to trade up to get him. But... New Orleans? They've already got Deuce and RB. How much of a chance is he really going to have for playtime there?
I don't want to read too much into this, but they obviously think highly of Pittman to trade up. Could RB be relegated more to being a WR perhaps ? Or are they just bringing Pittman in to sit on the bench in case somebody gets hurt? If it turns out to be the latter, I'm kind of disappointed.
