Little...if you really want to get deep about it, we're starting 2 CB's who would have trouble being nicklebacks on most teams. Seriously, that IS NOT an exagerration, our CB's are that inexperienced and sub-par. The fact that Terry Cousins is our starting Nickleback, says about all you need to know about the secondary.
But, even after accepting the above informagtion, this team has been in position to beat Pittsburgh and Baltimore today. Every game is going to have it's up and downs, but Braylon has cost us both of these games, IMO. Yes, he caught a difficult throw today that maybe should have been picked, but those are the types of plays we expected him to make as the #3 overall pick several years ago. He cost us a competitive outing against Dallas, he cost a W against Pittsburgh, and he cost a W today, IMO.
I thought the O-line gave Derrick plenty of time today, and I think they've done a decent job overall this year. Somehow, one of the best playcallers in the NFL last year, has turned to [censored] at times this year. I don't fault Chud for not getting the run game going today, but how does DA get as much time in the pocket as he had at times today, without anywhere to go with the ball. Something is off....
1. The routes for the WR's are often in the same area...why does that happen? Braylon caught a 20-30 yard throw in front of Steptoe down the field...why are they even within 10 yards of each other?
2. How much time does it take for our routes to develop? Are our routes that bad, or can I guys just not get open? Or does DA just do a terrible job of finding the open man? The diffiuclt thing about this for me, is that DA did an excellent job last year of hitting his back foot and getting rid of the ball. This year, he has hung in the pocket, taking sacks, thrown into coverage, etc. The pass-pro has been pretty solid, IMO....why are we having such trouble getting open receivers. Personally, I think the of Joe Jurevicious has hurt, and Donte Stallworth being hurt every week has hurt, but I think Chud is having a rough year.
