Rate a Position...Part 1..QB

What does Troy Smith have to do with Stanton? Honeslty. I think tOSU fans just like to bring Troy Smith up whenever they can because he's not getting the love from the rags that Quinn or Leak are.

Smith is a very good QB, just don't think he's as good as Stanton and if you made them trade places tOSU wouldn't have went 8-4 in 2004 and they wouldn't have lost 2 games in '05.

Honestly, I don't think we need to bring him up in every breath since he is likely in your nightmares by now...

8-4 in 04 yet only 1 loss when Troy was the starter

2 losses in 05, but only one with Smith as the starter.

Grad, seriously why even do this? You know I'm not going to respond to you like I would somebody else, because if I do you'll just likely ban me. You already warned me.

I'm surprised I ain't banned yet, but I feel it coming.

I guess I'll just do a 180 and follow the norm around here.

Tedd Ginn is the best WR ever. (*slurp* *slurp*- strange slurping, sucking noises)

Troy Smith is the best QB to ever pick-up a football (more strange, slurping, sucking noises)

Well, looks like I'm one of the gang now!

No need for all of that...just expected more decent discussion out of you. Your trolling tonight is transparent at best...in fact, if this place "sucks" so bad, why stay? Leave. Simple. Go find some scUM boys to play with...

This really isn't hard...then at least you won;t have to fake the sucking and slurping noises.

No worries though bro...we all sympathize with you...after all, we felt your pain in the 90's.

Thankfully I really don't have to make an argument about it, thankyou Grad. But I really didn't feel the need to argue Smith over Stanton or any notion that Stanton would have beat Penn State in our game last year if he had started instead of Smith. Besides the only reason anybody would make an argument like this is because A) They are an MSU fan B) They are a scUM fan who knows they would never get buy with calling Henne better than Smith because even he knows everyone would laugh at him so he picks the closest B10 quarterback he can find.

Maybe we could take an independant poll of ND fans since they managed to lose to them both to see who is better.

Best: Troy Smith. His passing is very underrated. He has a great arm and accruacy, and still has mobility. He hardly has any weaknesses.

Overrated: Brady Quinn. Brady Quinn is very overrated. Just watch him play in the Fiesta bowl. Disect him, and you will know, his WR are the ones making them plays. They Praise him for all of his WR work. They are always WIDE open when he throws that ball. I honestly can't wait untill he falls on his face.

Underrated: Chris Leak.

If Smith were our starting QB in all 04 and 05, we certainly wouldn't have lost that many games. Troy only lost two games when he was starting.

Edit: grad beat me to it. I've got to improve my typing speed.

Damn dude...i'll give you the arguement of Smith being the best but the other two are just ridiculous. Do you actually think Quinn is overrated?!? Did you not see what he did last season and all the ND records he broke? ND has had alot of good QBs go through the college and Quinn is breaking their records left and right and you say he is overrated? If he left for the draft after last season he might of been the #2 QB taken (after Young) or maybe even #1 QB.

And Leak underrated? He has been anything but underrated. He was one of the most talked about QBs coming out of high school. Saying he was the next Vick-like QB and that he would win a NC for Florida in no time. He had an ok season last year but the other 2 years were plain horrible compared to what people thought he would do. Leak will always be remembered as one of the most overrated college QBs unless he can show all that talent this coming year.

I'm changing my most overrated QB to Quinn. I just don't think he's the best. He has a huge advantage over Troy Smith because his wide recievers are huge. I can't count how many times all he did was throw it up and his recievers went up and made the play. I remember the only OSU td in the Texas game and that touchdown by Troy could not have been thrown any better. Absolutely beautiful pass to Santonio Holmes. I suggest you guys go check it out if you don't remember it well.

Troy's accuracy>Brady's

Overrated: Kyle Wright-He's getting waaaaaaaay too much preseason hype. He boosted his stats in games like Wake Forest and Duke yet played poorly in big games.

He's still getting the hype:

AL DIAZ / MIAMI HERALD STAFF
KYLE WRIGHT: 'I'm as confident as I've ever been going into this season. . . . I don't expect us to lose any games.'

<!-- begin body-content -->
BIG EXPECTATIONS
''I'm as confident as I've ever been going into this season,'' junior quarterback Kyle Wright said Sunday at the first day of the ACC Football Kickoff at the Sawgrass Marriott Resort & Spa. 'If you're not confident in your ability and your teammates' ability, you're done right off the bat. You come to the University of Miami to win a national championship, bottom line.
``I don't expect us to lose any games. That would make the fans happy. There's no reason why we shouldn't go to the ACC championship [game]. No reason at all. If we go out and take care of business every Saturday -- Mondays, Thursdays, whatever day we play -- we'll get there.''
Joining Wright was starting weak-side linebacker Jon Beason. The 6-0, 236-pound physical specimen mostly exuded positiveness about his teammates' offseason after going 9-3 in 2005. But he also conceded that other teams didn't fear the Hurricanes like in the old days, and that he clearly understood why.
''You know what, they've earned [that opinion],'' Beason said. ``I don't mind a guy not fearing me initially. If they're going to come in and feel like they have a fighting chance, more power to them. It's a focus thing. It's always having to be on point, hungry and playing every [play] like it's your last, playing like it's your national championship game. Playing like we're playing the Florida States and Virginia Techs, and if we do that we'll be fine.''

Best: Brady Quinn...he's worth all the hype
Overrated: Chad Henne...it wasn't just a Sophomore slump, he's just not a good decision maker and is not a good leader.
Underrated: Troy Smith...too many people still doubt he's the real deal, but he is almost as good as Quinn...and I think is definitely the best candiate in the country to win the Heisman if Quinn doesn't.
