I went cold turkey in July. I used snuff and smoked cigs too. It's funny, you just have to get past all of the triggers that use to make you think about smoking. Everyday, I do something new that previously made me think about smoking.

I did gain a little weight, but that just motivated me to get back in the gym.

Goo luck SIMV. Tell everybody that will listen that you quit...that way they'll hold you to it which may just keep your from smoking that one that got you started back before.

I just quit recently, and I've actually lost weight over the past month because of increased exercising.

The cravings really kick in when I drink. I've gotten close to cracking the last couple of times I've been out drinking, almost as if I'm trying to convince myself that it's ok to smoke when you drink.

SIMV, Just buy a really expensive car that gets really bad gas mileage. That way you don't have the extra $$$ to buy smokes.

Seriously though, my friend's mother died at 45 of lung cancer from smoking. Some of us are right around that age or maybe beyond it. Paying a shitload of money to kill yourself doesn't make sense. The thing about lung cancer is that you don't just get it one day and day the next. It is a long battle of coughing and hacking and not being able to breathe. Wouldn't put my worst enemy through it. Good luck bro.

You little bitch. How could it take you years to quit? I quit in May of 2006....at least, as far as my wife knows.

"Hi, how are you?" "I'm fine" more conversation, more conversation.... "Are you smoking?" "No" "Really?" "Ok, so I'm smoking" (chuckles) "Ok."
