Question about the 1998 MSU/OSU game...

I had just started dating this girl during the fall of 1998 and things were going pretty good. The Bucks were huge favorites and I really liked this girl, so for some unknown reason (i.e., sex) I let her talk me into going to some festival and taping the game. It was a pretty good day and I took solace in the fact that when I got home, I'd be watching the game on tape.

As soon as we got back, I turned on the TV. It was already on ESPN and as the sound came on I heard "Upset Saturday in college football, did No. 1 survive?" and then it went to commercial. I immediately suspected the worst. I hit fast forward on the tape waiting to see whether I would get to the end of the game or they would come back from commercial first.

This girl decided to be cute and stand in front of the tv so that I couldn't hit play or see the TV when the station came back to show highlights. After asking her to move, and then telling her to move, I picked her up and moved her myself. She just stood there dumbfounded; I think she understood right then and there where she stood compared to OSU.

She married me anyway and last week we were in the Shoe together watching the Bucks beat Colorado. She has never asked me to do anything during a game since.

I still can't believe this game....talk about an unbelievable string of bad luck for Ohio State and a monumental string of good luck for Sparty

the fumbles

the awful punt that hit an ohio state player and sparty recovered

stuffed on 4th and 1

Bill fucking Burke launching up prayers and hitting

Burke threw the ball 46 times and completed just 18- but most were killer (323 yards on 18 completions)

Sparty ran for just 48 yards on 34 carries

guess it was just one of those games

Worst game ever. I couldn't even get out of my seat at the stadium after the final whistle. Too stunned to believe what happened.

Can relate to this very well. Thump, buckeyefool, and I just sat in silence at the end of the game until an usher told us it was time to leave.
