QB/WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

He likes the white jerseys better than the scarlet FWIW too...

TP had some of his better games on the road. He thrives in that environment, and I think he said publicly somewhere that he loves playing on the road. Anybody remember at MSU where he waived his arms in the air to taunt the crowd? Good stuff!

I was talking this over with a couple guys the other day:"Troy in 05 vs TP in 09". Do you guys think TP can be further along passing wise than Troy was in 05?
Troy always had arm strength to spare, but was still erratic at times early in the '05 season. His progression through the '05 season was spectacular culminating with him carving up ND in the Fiesta Bowl. He was also in his 4th year in the program at that point. TP has the arm, but I think he just had some freshman jitters and was prone to the expected "growing pains" last season. He may require some patience on the passing front, but the kid wants to learn (much like Troy) and looks more than willing to put in the work to become the best QB he can be (just like Troy). With his talent and work ethic, that is a dangerous combination.

As for the weapons, if the kids we have on the roster begin to reach their potential, they may very well approach that '05 squad eventually. It won't be easy, but the potential is there. One other BIG advantage, TP may very well be playing behind one of the more talented offensive lines we've seen in Columbus...and that's huge.

That deep ball that Troy threw to Teddy against ND was sick. That ball traveled 64 yards in the air!!
I think it is a little early to dub the line Pryor will be working with as "one of the best ever". The receivers are going to have to live up to their hype as well.

I know what you're saying, but we've said/heard that before and then been sorely disappointed. I drank the Kool Aid last season with Boone, Rehring, Cordle and Browning all coming back and that line played well below average for most of the season.

I am hopeful though!!

Footwork, footwork, footwork!

When he learns to properly set his feet and step into his throws as if it is second nature I think the throwing concerns will be in the rear view mirror. His arm strength seems to be more than adequate. It's poor footwork and late decision making that lead to inconsistency. I fully expect this offseason to take care of most of those issues.

It's a great time to be a Buckeye (as if there is ever a bad time to be a Buckeye).

Fair enough, but the talent level is worlds apart (Boone possibly the exception, but he obviously was battling some demons) and I don't ever recall hearing how the OL was working their ass off like we've been hearing about TP. I still say the OL problems come/came from relatively weak overall OL recruiting up until last year. That's getting fixed in a hurry though.

Agreed. This offensive unit we have coming up in the system is going to be a great one when it's all said in done. It all starts with that O line. The class of 08 seems to be one of the hardest working, most athletic groups we have recruited it a while.
TP seems to have a good relationship with his receivers and I anticipate him silencing some doubters in '09.
