QB/WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

People can say what they want about how the pass gets there or whatever, but the result is all that matters and that result is only going to get better and better over the next few years. Pryor already produced better results passing this past year, not to mention his running and how he makes the running game more effective, than Boeckman did and as Smith did as a sophomore.

And I guarantee that the line coming through now is going to be a lot better than our lines from the last few years. This team is about to have a sick offense because that's what having a really good line lets you do. You can tell that this line is going to be better just by their attitude and nastiness, not to mention talent and friendship.

Please don't forget just how young this offensive line will be next season, with the exception of Justin Boren. Mike Adams (first-year starter), Cordle/Brewster, Browning, and potentially Shugarts......very, very young and and inexperienced. Talented? Absolutely, but the youth of this group will hurt it more than most people realize.....in my opinion.

Back to Pryor........

Nah not really THAT young. Adams? Sure he's going to be young and inexperienced. Then you have Boren, Browning, Cordle, and Brewster who all have now played a ton of football.

Only two young green players will be Adams/Shuggarts. Personally I would rather see an inexperienced Shuggarts out there than Browning. Just because he's built like a tackle where as Browning is built like a gaurd.

this is where pryor's mobility is such an asset. with him being a threat to run dlines will have to look to contain first pass rush second. the biggest issue for the oline is going to be chemistry. talent is a small issue, talent shouldn't be a problem, but being on the right page... you can have the best most talented guys in the country. if their reading from a different playbook... absolute carnage. the fear of pryor running wild hopefully will give the oline the padding they need to get their feet underneath them.

its going to be very interesting to see how pryor and this group gel.

Until Pryor has shown he can consistently make reads and improve his footwork, they'll pass rush. Texas had no issue with this, they were willing to let Pryor take his chances down field. - They came hard most of the game.

And Pryor burned them quite a few times.
Not enough to win the game though despite a rock solid performance by the D. That's not meant as a knock on Terrelle, he was a true frosh and apparently nursing some injuries. That's the area he needs to, and I fully expect him to, improve. A full spring/summer working on his mechanics and gaining experience and synergy with his recievers should lead to significant improvement. I still look for him to show some inexperience this fall, but I expect far fewer cringe-inducing throws. A similar timeline to VY is what I'm expecting: mixed bag of exciting/rocky moments as a frosh, improvement in year two, all world in year three...all without the benefit of a RS year. If he's a four year player...look out.

I agree that his passing game will be much better next year. A better passing game will open up the threat of his running game, which was pretty good this year. The only question I have is will the coaching staff create an offense that can utilize his talents.

Terrelle Pryor was a true freshman who didn't even open the season as the starting QB. I think some folks' expectations were a tad high. He did fine, overall, and the passing reads/throws will only get better.

Can't wait to see him next season, now that he's experienced and the unquestioned starter at QB.

I agree totally! His footwork is terrible, and he will have all offseason to fix that. Once he gets that down he will be fine.

I think he will re-write the record books at OSU. Nuff said! To be the "MAN" as a 18 year old kid and do what he did... the kid is having fun and thats what makes him special. The game is slowing down for him. Who cares if he is a great passer... look at our past qb's.. to win in college football u can't b one-dimensional (thank you Texas Tech and Choklahoma) the teams tht win championships have a QB who can make plays and great decisions. Krenzel won our last NC not only with his arm but I do believe he made a few plays with his legs as well. The kid is a great athlete and if the passing gets better it only helps OUR TEAM. He is a MAN among boys on the gridiron!!

I think if you look at our recent history with QB's, we shouldn't worry about utilization of talents.

The Pryor effect
Buckeyes have to look far and wide to find quarterback willing to wait for his chance

NEAL C. LAURON | DISPATCH
Terrelle Pryor is entrenched as coach Jim Tressel's QB

Coach Jim Tressel's phone rang at 11:30 Tuesday night. It was Kenny Guiton, a quarterback from Aldine, Texas, who called to say he had just received Ohio State's letter of intent.

A bleary-eyed Tressel was not amused.

"I told him he's on Central time," Tressel said, adding, "but he's an anxious kid."

Guiton is in a hurry to wait, apparently, because when he gets to Columbus, he will be third string behind starter Terrelle Pryor and backup Joe Bauserman.

The fact that Guiton is fine with that makes him one of the most intriguing recruiting stories in years.

Nobody wants to wait anymore.

Why fumble around through the Yellow Pages -- just click on yellowpages.com. You don't have to watch a movie in theaters. You don't even have to drive to the rental store. Just punch it up on your cell phone.

It works this way in recruiting, too -- particularly with quarterbacks. Now more than ever, they don't see the need to sit and develop slowly. They want to go where they can play right away, even if that means the school is not a traditional powerhouse.
