QB/WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

OSU quarterbacks coach Joe Daniels squashed rumors that Terrelle Pryor had an injured shoulder during the Fiesta Bowl loss to Texas. The rumors were rampant on Internet message boards, and some even reported that Pryor had been quoted as saying he tweaked the shoulder during the game.

The whispers apparently were based in part of some poor Pryor passes and a couple of plays in which he ran out of bounds rather than turn upfield to gain a few more yards. But Daniels said this week that Pryor's shoulder was never injured.

The Columbus Dispatch : Bob Hunter commentary: Rumblings

Pryor fine: There has been discussion outside the program that quarterback Terrelle Pryor might have been dealing with some sort of shoulder injury during the Fiesta Bowl. At least according to Ohio State coaches, that was not the case.

"No, nothing out of the ordinary I don't think," assistant quarterbacks coach Nick Siciliano, who works with Pryor as much as anyone, said Wednesday.

As for whether Pryor has any injuries he's dealing with now, Siciliano said, "Nothing at all. If there is, I don't know about it."

I agree. I find it very strange that such a rumor was only dealt with now even though it started right after the game.

Also, haven't many 'insiders' confirmed that PRyor actually got hurt? And there have been other news articles too. Just weird and probably unecessary to address it now and spark a new set of controversy and people saying "I told you so".

Ohio State Buckeyes College Football Recruiting, OSU Big Ten Football, OSU Basketball - Bucknuts.com 2-7-09

Ranking The Big Ten's QBs

* 3. Terrelle Pryor, So., Ohio State ? Pryor was the top quarterback recruit in the country in 2008 out of Jeannette, Pa., and was only expected to see spot duty as a freshman at OSU. However, he ended up winning the starting job by the fourth game of the season and had a good year considering his age. Pryor ledthe Big Ten in passing efficiency with a rating of 146.5. He had 1,311 passing yards (60.6 percent) with 12 touchdowns and four interceptions. Pryor has a long way to go to be a great passing QB, but he had a solid first year throwing the ball. And he?s also an excellent runner that finished with 631 rushing yards and six touchdowns in 2008. Players often make big improvements from their freshman to sophomore years and if that is the case with Pryor, the Big Ten better watch out. One could make the argument he should be over Williams on this list, but I?ll give the nod to the upperclassman for now.

Man hes good.

Yep, he's got my vote  after all it's only fair that a tOSU player keeps Archie's status as the only two time Heisman Trophy winner going by keeping Tebow or Bradford from winning, then sets himself to become the first three time winner (I can dream, can't I :tongue2:)

I've seen it posted in other threads that some expect Pryor's efficiency rating to go down this year from last year.

Let's just say that I feel very strongly that his rating will go in the other direction.

It could be that expectations of a lower rating are such a minority view that it's not worth discussing. So what do you think?

Up or Down?

vBet?

(1:1 only -- no more big odds :wink2: )

People think this because they believe his attempts will go way up. I can certainly se this side of the debate, but I think it will either stay the same and most likely go up. I think Pryor is going to improve more than some realize. He's already good at not throwing INTs and had a good amount of TDs for that amount of yards and attempts he had.

He could regress and that is certainly a possibility, but just watching him in every game and seeing his development along with his attitude, I don't see it happening. Yet again I think PRyor will succeed his hype.

I look for a 2,300yd 25 TD 67% year. Throw in 600-700yds rushing and 7-10 TDs.

Wow, and only a month later.

It's pretty irrelevant now, especially with the off season upon us. But it does mean that Terrelle is going to make some strides over the winter, spring, and summer.

elevenwarriors is refuting these claims

"Not to keep beating a dead and ultimately unimportant horse, but we?ve received word from two super-reliable sources that Pryor was not injured for the Fiesta Bowl loss to Texas. He had some minor aches and such, but nothing on the level of an injured shoulder. Not sure what?s up with the Bucknuts Radio Hour and Biddle saying he had a bum shoulder for the game, but just wanted to throw this update out there. "

I think this is going to end up being a matter of fans deciding which side they want to believe. There are insiders who swear up and down that he was indeed injured. And then there are others who say injury wasn't an issue.

Doesn't really matter anyway. Looks like he's bounced back and is good to go!
