The ONLY thing we KNOW to be true so far is the tatts and JT not reporting it to the NCAA.

Except that he is.

Still no answer.

Most of the rest? Tatts being traded for trinkets has been admitted. We knew JT covered it up. We already knew this. That's not what you were talking about tho. You said everything SINCE then, yet none of that has been proven. In fact, most of it has been proven to be [censored]ing horse[Mark May], which means that the media is [censored]ing inept at best, and unjustly picking on tOSU for the sake of sales at worst.

Instead of calling me ignorant, tell me which accusations besides the [Mark May] we admitted have been proven. I'm aware that five or six players traded sigs and [Mark May] for tatts and JT covered for them. If you know of any other violations, I'm all ears.
Pretty sure the media has been on the front end of all the "proven" violations and if/when more are proven, they are in front on that as well. I'll take my chances trusting the media over a rabid fan base that has claimed at every turn that this was all bullshit and there was nothing to see all along. Sorry Kyle, but dismissing the hated media is hollow anymore and seems more than just naive but rather intentionally obtuse.

But the media has also been on the front end of the claims that are falling through (Ginson car deal, 26 other players named that will be cleared, etc.) The fact that the media has gotten some of it right doesn't whitewash the fact that they've also gotten some of it wrong.

So I'll wait until stuff is proven or the NCAA releases their conclusions before I jump to any definitive judgement.

If we're counting beans here, SI alleged that a total of 28 were involved in tattoo-parlor related benefits. They said that was 22 more than tOSU had admited to, although tOSU had actually admitted to 7 (the 5, Whiting, and player 'G'), and that there were 9 more current players involved than those already named.

And behind the scenes reports a few days ago were saying that 8 of the 9 current players have been cleared. I've seen nothing that said anything about the other 12 or 13 former players SI alluded to, but since former players don't have to talk to the NCAA they may not have been investigated very closely.

Trading autographs for tatts.. already out in the open. NCAA already dished out the punishment.
JT's paper trail of emails.. already out in the open.
The 350z.. checked out.
The loaners.. no word yet, right?
Thad Gibsons car.. checked out.
Players named in SI article.. word is, all but 1 checked out.
TP signing mini-helmets making 40K.. no word yet, right? <- even if it does check out, not sure how thats anyones problem but TPs.
Ray Small came out and said he got hooked up in Columbus.. take it FWIW. No doubt, IMO, if guys walk around looking for hand-outs they will find them.

What exactly has been new & proven? The loaners.. maybe?

Am I missing one?

It's been a slow drip of the same bullshit each & every day. It is what it is, but it seems much worse than it actually is. Perception is reality, and to most of the country - we already were cheaters before any of this news broke.

I reject your reality and substitute my own.

TP was accused of playing golf on a private course and going to the birthday party for Talbott's kid.

I think this is a bit strong in light of the report that 8 of the 9 named in Dohrrman's article have been cleared, with additional reports that the ninth should be cleared as well.

All the media fail's have made me pretty confident that our program, for the most part, is pretty clean. It look's like the only guy that was really rogue was TP, but that's also speculation and not a fact.

The whole MoC thing was also speculation and not fact. I think that's on thing people need to keep in mind. All the shit being thrown at us looks bad, but it doesn't mean the NCAA is gonna burn OSU to the ground. They have to PROVE it, and so far people are having a hard time proving the shit thats been thrown at us.

in regards to the media, I agree with you. So much garbage gets run through the paper on a daily basis, who knows what's really going on. August 12th is the day when we'll find out what's fact and what's been grand standing by the media in trying to dig anything they can to earn a quarter at the local news stand.

A denial from the administration or its supporters/enablers/cronies is not the same thing as proof.

Just like an accusation from the media or its supporters/enablers/cronies is not the same thing as proof.

It remains to be seen just which of the allegations that have come out beyond what has already been admitted to by the university that the NCAA will find to be true.
