QB/WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

If so, that would definitely apply this week. I'm not sure he was unlicensed when the insurance violation occurred, though, or if suspensions and unlicensed are looked at the same way. That would be odd, since your average car owner can ask to see someone's license before lending a car, but not check their driving record.

I do know that most policies in most states will drop you like a brick if someone not on a personal policy has a ticket or accident. They don't want risk they can't rate.

For a little levity.

An undergraduate college student...with no car insurance...and unpaid traffic tickets...the world is is ending...absolutely despicable...might as well be bernie madoff...

You forgot that he rolls through stop signs and likes to speed on 315.

These kind of revelations are why NBC4 and WBNS10TV get the big bucks. They've narrowed down the profile of Terrelle Pryor to describe about 60,000 other students at Ohio State.

Shit at first I thought they were talking about me, but then I was like I'm rarely on 315 in the off season, so I'm good. Whew.

Haha...for sure...Does anyone else find it interesting that Posey, Boom, Mike Adams, Thomas, and Whiting (not to say that fans should start piling on them as well) have yet to receive any criticism while Terrelle Pryor is being alienated by some in BuckeyeNation. We all know Pryor isn't king of the interview and his car situation is a little shady, but it seems like the anger from our unfortunate situation is solely being directed at TP because he's an easy target with some perceived character flaws.
It's unfortunate IMHO. It's as if people are forgetting that TP is not a criminal, and that he violated NCAA rules and the trust of his teammates when he was a freshman in college (2008). Aside from the 350Z his mom got for him (by the way it's not illegal for a mother to buy her son a $16,000 car with a loan his senior year in college) and the suspended license, his mistakes happened years ago. I mean like 3 years ago. He deserves criticism, but it is starting to get out of hand especially when one juxtaposes discounted tattoos/selling of personal items next to the revenue OSU/NCAA makes from players.
Once again, I'm not defending what he did because it was wrong, selfish, and it violated rules, but i think it's time people stop saying TP should go. After all, Tressel didn't give up on the young man. Why should we? He is part of our Buckeye family, isn't he? Especially since the majority of ppl piling on TP didn't have these sentiments after the Sugar Bowl win. All that has changed is Tressel re-signed (shouldn't have had to happen), TP drives with a license that has been suspended for 2 wks (not that crazy), and he drove a car with temp plates to a meeting (not the best decision).

In part because we view him as the leader of the team. No doubt the kid is a competitor and a hell of a force on the field, but I'm hoping he can put it together off the field as well.

Terrelle Pryor represents The Ohio State University for better or for worse. It's ironic he wants to leave the University a legend, which he may still do, but not in the way he envisioned.

Well the villification can only come with knowledge, and since the media has pretty much left the other 4 alone, the public is growing to dislike Pryor as more and more revelations come about. It's as simple as that.

Is it possible the other 4 have nothing other than what originally happened? Yes. Is it possible that the other 4 are guilty of more transgressions but the media is choosing to stick to Pryor? Yes.

I know you're trying to see the silver lining in this but honestly you need to look at the scale of all these items. Individually they may be small but collectively we're looking at a rather large pile of crap. Add to that the fact that the NCAA is now opening another investigation into Pryor. It's pretty easy to see why he's the poster boy for what's happening at Ohio State right now.

Pryor's mother bought quarterback's car

There might be lingering questions from the NCAA about the loaner cars Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor has been seen driving the past few months, but there is evidence that his current vehicle - a 2007 Nissan 350Z - was bought for him recently by his mother.

Pryor's attorney, Larry James, yesterday released the bill of sale from Auto Direct showing Thomasina Pryor as the buyer. It also showed the car had 80,102 miles on it when they took possession more than a week ago, that the final price, after trade-in of his previous black Dodge Charger, was $11,435.06, and that his mother agreed to make monthly payments of $298.35 for the next 51 months.

James would not confirm whether he is representing Pryor in the NCAA and Ohio State investigation into whether the senior-to-be - who is suspended for the first five games of the 2011 season for taking improper benefits from a tattoo parlor - has run afoul of NCAA regulations again.

After coach Jim Tressel's resignation on Monday, Pryor drew some attention that night when he showed up for a team meeting in the Nissan, sporting tinted windows and sleek wheels. WBNS-TV (Channel 10) also captured video of Pryor leaving in the car.

Pryor's license was suspended during a traffic stop in February because he was not carrying proof of insurance, and it's understood that suspension runs into August.
James said he wasn't clear on the status of Pryor's license.

"I can tell you he has insurance," James said. "Whether he had proof of insurance on him at the time - as you know, when you get stopped, if you don't have proof of insurance, you get cited. He probably had X number of days to show proof of insurance and he probably failed to do that."

Cont'd ...

I understand why he's being criticized. I don't understand why others (except for Ray Small) are not being criticized. We know of 5 other players involved for sure, and the SI article hints at 28 former (maybe current?) Buckeyes. None of those alleged violations exclusively gets us in this shithole. Jim Tressel has the major role to play for that. You want to ask who the poster boy ought to be?

I'm just not going to throw him under the bus yet. Still a Buckeye, still on the team, still just a one-time NCAA violator... still under investigation. Until that's done, I'll refrain from this shit. If Ohio State gets the death penalty, it still would not rest solely on Pryor's shoulders. But it sure is nice to have a scapegoat.

10 Investigates went to Thomasina Pryor's East Columbus home on Wednesday and found her personal car, a 2004 Oldsmobile Alero, parked there.
Although she declined to appear for an on-camera interview, she did deny any allegations of wrongdoing. "I am not doing anything wrong," she said. "I mean, I have a job, I work all the time. My son's had a car since he was 18-year-old. What's the difference? Everybody has a car. It doesn't matter to me. My son is what matters to me. I wish everybody would understand that."
10 Investigates did find court records that showed that Thomasina Pryor has had some recent financial challenges, but she was adamant that she could afford the car payments and insisted that paying for her son's cars was worth the cost.
Documents supplied late this evening by Terrelle Pryor's attorney show that Thomasina Pryor is paying nearly 300 dollars month for the next four-and-a-half years.

So what does this say to future recruits' families? If your child is a star at tOSU, and screws up, you will be under the microscope too. Better pay off all of those parking tickets, burn your son's bad report card from the 6th grade, don't take extra sauce at McDonalds, obey all 10 Commandments, and never ever say anything nice about M!chigan Football or you too will be hounded by the media and dragged into the spotlight.
