QB/WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

I can't fault TP for taking a shot at Herbstriet. He was asked specifically about KH and he responded. He was infinitely more mature than KH was when asked to comment on TP.

KH went on a NATIONAL radio show and went on a tirade against Pryor. KH said that the Buckeyes would be better off without him. That is a pretty damning statement coming from a national pundit who is also seen as connected to Ohio State.

All Pryor said was he doesn't care what KH thinks (which is bullshit by the way) and then took little jab at him. Big deal.

What KH said was far more damaging than what TP said.

strange. He looks like he just hates talking to these guys the whole time he's sitting there. Can't blame him though, dude's are vultures.

They're just doing their jobs. They're asking relevant questions at media events. They'd be much easier to talk to if TP hadn't given them so much to ask him about. Vultures? They're doing their jobs.

This is why Tressel-speak is important and valuable, and why TP needs to do that.

Why the hell was the Dispatch even going through his traffic citations? Jesus H Christ all this piling on has to be getting to TP's head, no wonder he has a short fuse with the media.

Think about it: how would you feel if you were interviewing or auditioning for a great job over a period of time, and people you didn't even know are purposefully digging up dirt on you and reporting about you even when you did not break the law, but wording the title to insinuate that you could have. I would be very weary and exasperated with everyone doing their "job."

IMO this is not how we should treat these young adults. Without them the vast majority of these guys do not even have jobs in Columbus.

I wasn't even talking about the situation you're making it sound like I was talking about.

I was referring to the reporters asking questions about the situation TP has gotten himself into while they're at a media event. That = not vulturing

I think TP should be held accountable for what he says and does.. I don't think he should be treated like a God, or a child, like many want. And are you inferring that the media should not ask him about this stuff just because "these guys" wouldn't have a job if he weren't around? Seriously, someone has to report the news. Like it or not, the media is the only group who is going to do that. People make them out to be much worse than they actually are. Sometimes they deserve it.

My take is this: I wish that Terrelle was a little more guarded with everything. I wish he kept some things to himself despite how strongly he may or may not feel about something. I wish he hasn't sold his gold pants and stuff but it is what it is. In the end of the day, he plays quarterback for my school and does a good job at it. He's made some big plays for us and won us a lot of games. He's not perfect but who is? I do know this, Terrelle has done way more good here than bad. Whether that's winning games or a lot of the behind the scenes things like visiting sick kids in the hospital (something I know he does more than anyone else on the team FWIW), Terrelle is doing a lot of good. Think about how low your heart sank when you saw that we had 5 players sitting out next year. You don't think his sank lower than that? He feels terrible and wants to make it right. Give him a break already.

I just hope our offense is focused and ready to roll in 2 days.

Not sure if anyone has seen this version yet. Biddle acting like a douche.

I just don't see why OSU doesn't start banning certain reporters from interviews of OSU players if they deliberately ask question in "off limits" subject areas

this is where Gene Smith needs to grow a backbone....the backlash in the buckeye nation wouldn't be against OSU, it would be against the media sources that break the agreement

Sorry, should have clarified...I wasn't responding directly to your post, just venting. I agree, asking questions during a press conference is different than reporting traffic stops 2 years ago in which nothing illegal was found.

Edit: On second thought, the post by southcampus makes me even more tired of these types because they choose not to report on the good things TP does off the field. I do not think he should be treated above the media or given a pass for everything he does, but to go out of their way to find more negatives instead of reporting the obvious positives in front of them upsets me, that's all.

Why do we keep defending this Pryor? Herbstreit didn't say anything wrong about Pryor. With a four or five game suspension, it might be time to move away from him. I was hoping he would be on his way next year to a great season but this kid lacks any humility.

"we" aren't doing anything. Some of us are defending, some of us are bashing him, and some of us are expressing legitimate critisism.

That is the beauty of the interwebz.

Playing Devil's Advocate here...

If Pryor said something damning about Mark May would be even be spinning in this circle of frenzy right now?

No, because its a "fellow" Buckeye to some, but a media member to others.

Its all at how you view Herbie as to how you will view Pryor's words about Herbie.

IMO I don't think it's a good idea for him to get into a verbal battle with anyone. Especially someone who works at ESPN. Taking the high road has no negatives.

It's only news because Pryor did something completely OK, which was documented as being completely OK.

The degree to which people seem to want to blame Terrelle Pryor for the major crime of being Terrelle Pryor - pfui.

It may have been completely okay in the eyes of the NCAA...but it was close enough to not being okay that TP should have known better than to do it without checking with compliance.

But how is it okay? Would this dealership let me "check out" a car for a weekend??
