QB/WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

Yeah, so sorry my post wasn't laced with venom and disdain and thoughts of "I doubt he'll make it to The Game."......sheesh.

Tate Forcier is unquestionably my favorite player to ever don the Maize and Blue, any predictions about Robinson going down from my end are motivated by the hope that we get to see the Tater in the game.

Tater can't hold Mike Lantry's kicking tee.

Got to give a shout out to Pryor while I know twitter is frowned upon as an information source. This week he posted a picture of him and Posey reading to a grade school class and him and some other players hanged out with a wounded vet in the locker room after the game tonight. Got to love the way he is representing OSU and himself as a person.

I agree. A real class act. Needs to not be a bit less critical of himself.

Should have said that differently. Pryor is clearly not a poser. He needs to be reflective and self-critical. He's not playing anyone with a "gosh, aren't I just so normal" routine.

I don't know what he will do in pro football, but I think this kid has the potential to really be something in life.

Terrelle Pryor's OSU career remains long on potential, short on superstar performance: Bill Livingston

It would be unfair to call Terrelle Pryor a flop as quarterback of the Buckeyes, says Bill Livingston. But it's fair to assess his performance late in his junior year as something less than what was hoped for.

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Joe Germaine was the last player to get a scholarship in his recruiting class at Ohio State. Even though he came from a spot Chilean miner-deep on the depth chart, he was the closer as a sophomore against Arizona State in a frantic Rose Bowl victory. He was the Most Valuable Player of the game and the team, even if he wasn't the starter.

In his senior season in 1998, Germaine passed the Buckeyes to the top of the national polls, where they stayed until an inexplicable loss in the Horseshoe to a .500 Michigan State team. Ohio State finished second in the nation, anyway, a near-miss.

Troy Smith was the last player aboard in his recruiting class, too. He was listed, because of doubts about his size and his devotion to deciphering defensive schemes, not as a quarterback, simply as an "athlete." By his junior season, he dragged the Buckeyes by their chin straps back from a nine-point deficit in the last seven minutes at Michigan. He was the MVP of the Fiesta Bowl.

In his senior season, Smith became the runaway Heisman Trophy winner. The pride of the Cleveland city schools, the Glenville graduate kept the Buckeyes atop the national polls from the second game of the season until they fell with a thud in the BCS Championship Game to Florida. It was another miss, although not so close this time.

Progress is usually easy to see because of the many demands of the quarterback position. Also, quarterback play is so dependent on self-confidence that an MVP award in a major bowl can become a bellwether for future accomplishments.

It hasn't happened yet with Terrelle Pryor.

A star role player? Ohio State finding ways other than Terrelle Pryor to keep chasing Big Ten title
Published: Wednesday, November 17, 2010
Doug Lesmerises, The Plain Dealer

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- He was Ohio State's Heisman Trophy candidate, yet 10 games into the season, Terrelle Pryor doesn't seem to be at the heart of what the Buckeyes do.

When the Buckeyes needed a second-half rally against Penn State on Saturday, the defense clamped down and Dan Herron and the running game carried the Buckeyes to a 38-14 win. Ohio State ran the ball 43 times and threw it 13.

"I played terrible," Pryor said after the win, when he completed eight of 13 passes for 139 yards, "but we got the win and that's the main thing."
