This isnt much of a surprise...
Too many options to risk having him return kicks. Between Marshall, Wilson, Samuel, McLaurin, Dixon, Glover-Williams and Lattimore I'm sure they'd make more viable options

Article points to the idea of using Miller and Marshall in tandem on punt returns... YES PLEASE. I miss the old two-man return formation that Tressel used to use.

Safe to assume Braxton's velocity never returned post surgery or just doing what's best for the team?

I think the correct answer at the moment is "not yet". Article says the prognosis for his shoulder to be "fully healed" is another two to two-and-a-half months. Obviously, that's after the start of the season and didn't leave him in a position to compete at QB in fall camp.

I think it's a bit of both. In the SI article Miller said he wouldn't have a chance to play QB full time for another 2 months, so it only make sense for him to make the change both for the team and for his career.

Of course. But I'm under the impression he wanted to be a QB. and selfishly, I want to see him at qb.

Agreed. And not just because I lost all of my vbucks on his bet. His junior year he showed flashes of Troy - I wanted to see more of that. Also, most importantly, by coming back, he's shown he bleeds scarlet and gray. I hope that loyalty gets rewarded by the end of the season.
(Note that I'm not at all worried if #16 or #12 is the starting quarterback - I just wanted to see #5 back at QB.)
