QB/WR Braxton Miller (B1G POY, National Champion, OSU HOF)

Interesting comments from Brax. Sounds like if he could sign today for a mid second to mid third round contract he would take it. I found his comments about wanting to play well against Clemson to say one thing: "I want to look good to the scouts."

Hes not close to being drafted in the 5-6th round, let alone 2-3rd, lol. He could go in the 4th round maybe as a WR, but certainly not QB, he's not an nfl ready QB, he's hardly one for college. Still an athlete. I'd like to think he has better people in his ear and more sense

Miller's obvious lack of high draft status this year is only a strong argument against leaving early if you assume there's a good chance he would significantly improve his draft status next year. Maybe he's not making that assumption.

Someone would take him in the 4th or 5th at worst imo based on athleticism and arm strength. He has rare gifts athletically, but obviously lacks a lot of QB traits.

Whatever he decides, I wish him the best. I can't be upset with a guy who wants to support his family.

We thought the same with Troy. Like it or not, there's a skepticism about Ohio State QBs in the league.

I think Troy went in the 5th, no? But anyway, it is a pretty deep QB draft. Is he a top 15 guy at the position if he comes out? Only one GM needs to like him. Pryor had a 3rd used on him...

Troy went in the 6th round with a Heisman trophy and a slew of passing records. TP was seen as a more raw Cam Newton prototype. Braxton is neither one yet. If you're depending upon one GM to like him, you shouldn't expect much. Guys drafted after the 4th round usually aren't expected to do much in the league.

I think Braxton can be RGIII- but he clearly isn't there yet and needs the most work on accuracy (especially on deep balls), confidence, anticipating routes and willingness to throw into tight windows.

No one in the NFL is going to give him more than a few games (if he gets a shot at all) to show that he can be RGIII.

Proving that in college seems like a better route, but what do I know?

Late 5th, and Heisman Trophy has no relevance. It is about potential, and Troy had nearly peaked to many, and didn't have the athleticism Miller has.

It'd be disappointing if he left. Not from the standpoint of a fan (although that would also be true), but because he's truly not ready. If he leaves now he may be a 3rd rounder who probably doesn't stick at QB in the NFL (drafted as an athlete with the outside chance of becoming a QB). If he stays another year and develops his game, he could potentially be a 1st rounder (but let's say a 2nd rounder) with a good chance of at least being given a shot at a starting QB. Just my opinion.

Same difference - after the end of the 4th, the rest of those guys are camp fodder. Troy was a much more polished passer (even TP was more consistent, it was just fugly).

Braxton wouldn't be drafted until at least the 5th round. You don't leave early in the hope that some GM "likes you" or to be camp fodder.

Congrats to Braxton for winning the Silver Football award (Big Ten MVP) for a second straight year.

He is the first repeat winner in 24 years, and the first Buckeye to win it twice since Archie Griffin (1974-75).

(Not sure why B1G MVP 12 & 13 isn't accredited in his forum title)

Well the offensive line will go through a re-building stage and you have to think that Braxton knows that already. If he stays you know that he will take some hits from the defense and maybe he is tired of that to some degree. He sure did put a lot into his junior year and gave it
his best shot. I have a strong feeling he will for-go his Senior year and head for the pro's. Personally I would like him to stay but do you honestly think he can be the difference maker for Ohio State in 2014?
