QB/WR Braxton Miller (B1G POY, National Champion, OSU HOF)

Honestly it really looks like Miller is taking his next step. He looked sharp all night, his completion percentage was over 80 on 27 attempts and he was throwing frozen ropes all over the field. I even saw him hang in on the read option longer before making a decision and he ran the ball really well. And from the looks of it we are going to need a sharp offense going forward. The defense was leaving him plenty of short throws and he was content with taking them.

From what I saw in Braxton last week against Iowa is that he seems to be getting his mojo back. It seems like he has spent most of this season battling himself in every game. I really think the notoriety got to his head and when he got injured....he had to regroup. He has now regrouped and I think he's going to go on an absolute terror from now until January. I may be wrong, but I think Braxton is starting to have fun again.

I agree. I think it's starting to dawn on him that he doesn't have to do everything himself anymore and he's getting a lot better at distributing the ball. Making the right reads equals the offense being unstoppable plus he gets hit a lot less- both of which are probably more fun for him.

Even on the read option and non-designed QB scrambles, his two biggest weaknesses IMO, there wasn't a whole lot to complain about against Iowa. Hopefully he can keep that going.

On the flip side, I don't think he is a "home run threat" every time he touches the ball anymore. However, he has turned into a first down machine when he runs so I'll take that and be happy.

Then again, he's played on a sloppy field two games in a row which takes away his biggest strength as a runner- I'm curious to see what happens the next time we play on a nice day. What's the forecast for Saturday?

I'm thinking he could be that home run threat again with his legs in the next few weeks. Just my gut feeling. I think he's starting to trust that knee again.

Rewatching the Iowa game and Braxton may have had his best overall game I have seen him play since coming to Columbus. Calm, ran the offense with confidence, looked electric, and most importantly he got the ball out of his quickly and accurately. Keep building on that young man.

All I know about it is that he runs the offense, and when the ends of the two halves stop Ohio State's offense from scoring more often than Iowa's defense did, he's doing something right. If he can do that against Penn State, I don't care how many tight ends Penn State has, or how may times Roby gets ejected - Ohio State will win.

The Iowa game was the best Braxton has looked running the read option. He used to just predetermine his reads and not actually stay with the read to see which option was actually better. The play action off the read option to the perimeter was deadly on Brown's TD as the safety bit so hard on the run leaving the middle of the field vacated. I think this offense is about to explode due to Braxton's improvement in the read option and willingness to take more underneath routes. Defenses have been taking away the deep threat leaving more underneath routes and Braxton is really attacking those routes crisply.
