QB/WR Braxton Miller (B1G POY, National Champion, OSU HOF)

Any Ohio State QB tough guy discussion absolutely must include Joe Germaine. The abuse he took in the Sugar Bowl against Free Shoes was ridiculous. Wadsworth was throwing him around like a rag doll all night long.

Love Krenzel. Absolutely, unequivocally love the guy. But ask me, would I rather have a "tough guy" or a dynamic playmaker at the QB position and I'll take the latter, every time. And that's what Braxton Miller is.
A dynamic playmaker is not helpful if he is not on the field.

We all want Braxton healthy...and I hope he is and stays that way the rest of the season. The worry is that if he isn't, then it doesn't matter how good of a player he is. He now has a track record of being hurt and unable to finish games. Maybe it's bad luck, or maybe he is just more injury prone than others. I don't think it has ANYTHING to do with his heart or will to play. If a guy is hurt, he is hurt.

Lets just hope he can stay healthy. If not then at least we have a strong backup. This just proves that we need many more guys to step up this season if we want to win 14 games.

The difficult part of this is hearing about his growth as a QB and passer, but we haven't had a great deal of time on the field yet to see the progress. Hopefully we get to see him take another step forward this week.

Yep...if he is going to start lighting it up through the air...the Cal D would be a good opportunity to exert his arm and his will.

I was sure he missed some plays, maybe a quarter - but he never missed a start.
Krenzel hurt his shoulder in the 2OT win over NC State in 2003, but finished the game. Scott McMullen started the next two games (24-17 win over BGSU and 20-0 win over Northwestern). Krenzel came back (too early, IMO) and played poorly in the loss at Wisconsin. Didn't play well in the following game against Iowa. Was blamed by raging morons for the injury to Drew Carter in the Indiana game. Played poorly and was pulled from the Penn State game, where the legend of Scotty Mac began, as McMullen and our kick ass defense turned a 17-7 halftime deficit into a 21-20 win. Krenzel was also pulled from the Michigan game. Krenzel was a tough dude, but he did miss time due to injury.

In all of the "injury prone" talk, are we forgetting that Braxton asked Coach Meyer to come back into the game? Brax got hurt in the Purdue game, and that looked pretty bad, whatever it was. He had cramps (along with a few others) in the Buffalo game, and tweaked his knee in the SDSU game. Meyer must have felt the game was well in hand, and was comfortable with KG. Maybe we should let this one play out before we throw labels on the kid...

I wholeheartedly agree. Hey, Braxton, hope tomorrow's a great day for you. If you have to sit, rest easy.......Kenny G's got your back.

GO BUCKS!!!!!! :urban2:

No way he plays against our next opponent either... Honestly we are on a roll and its going to be tough IMO switching ears when he gets back

I still think he should start asap, whoever the opponent is. If this team is going to reach it's max potential, it needs Miller to get as many reps as possible, no matter how hard it is to switch gears. Coming out after missing 3 games and trying to play against Wisconsin and Northwestern will be a pretty difficult thing to do.

The coaches will be of two minds. Don't want to jeopardize Miller's knee by bringing him back too soon. Not wanting your best QB knocking off rust in the game against Wisconsin.

How many teams would want to start Kenny G? Either way, I am happy.
