QB/WR Braxton Miller (B1G POY, National Champion, OSU HOF)

The system is a bigger problem right now than Braxton's passing ability, IMHO. The current system needs scrapped in lieu of one that is much better suited to Braxton. He definitely needs improvement, but this system is horrible. Troy Smith would struggle in this system. He lived by the quick slant. There is no such thing as a quick slant in this current system - or it just isn't ever called.

What is this "system" you speak of? LOL!

I'm not an expert, I'm not a coach, I don't watch game films, but I'm just not seeing a lot of improvement out of Miller. Great runner - would be Denard 2.0 in Michigan's system. Maybe Ohio State's next coach designs an offensive system to suit Miller's abilities, but right now I don't see that he has anywhere near the grasp of the passing game that Smith and Pryor had at similar points in their respective careers.

Agreed. Brax has some talents, but I'm not seeing much growth either. Hopefully that will change quickly.

I only saw the first half, but it's the same thing I've seen throughout the rest of the season: OSU does not win often enough on 1st down. WAY too often they get 2 or less yards and end up in a 3rd and long. That is not the place you want any QB, much less a freshman one with freshman and sophomore WRs.

Braxton didn't look good today, but he is not being put in a position to succeed. The playcalling just isn't there to consistently get 4+yards on first down.

What kind of development do you expect to see within a system which Bollman calls the same play schemes game after game regardless of opponent or defensive personnel? The offensive scheme only allows the run game to thrive. Add this to the fact that Sicilliano has no expeience in developing QBs.

People really need to cut him some slack. Take a closer look at the plays that he gets to throw on time. The misdirection plays that allow him a check down almost always work. The "All-go" routes require too much time in the pocket and too much touch to drop into coverage. I agree he doesn't trust his timing and doesn't have great touch yet but it will come. They have to call more plays that allow him to check down and make faster decisions, thus releasing the ball much faster and taking fewer sacks until he learns to read defenses better and can audible out.
