QB/WR Braxton Miller (B1G POY, National Champion, OSU HOF)

It looked exactly like a rolled ankle to me. The way he hopped his leg as soon as it happened is exactly the reaction you have when it happens.

As a runner, I roll my ankles all the time. I rolled it twice very badly in the same workout a month ago, and it was fully healed by the end of the week, and I don't have an athletic training staff to help it heal as fast as possible. It will hurt like a bitch for a few days, but he will be fine next week unless he tore ligaments in his ankle, which is very unlikely considering he was able to walk.

Indeed I worried me some of the runs he made where he had open field and instead ran to contact trying to run over the DB. I5t's like you are the QB as shown in this game you are invaluable. Don't take more hits then necessary.

I rolled my ankle pretty bad playing basketball back in May (full jump, landed with sole of my foot pointed outward). It was excruciating at first, but me being a dumbass went ahead and played on it for another hour and a half. Needless to say I couldn't walk on it at all for a few days, and it bothered me for like 2 months afterward. I'm not sure if I tore a tendon or something (I think I might have, there was a decent amount of bruising), but if he did anything close to what I did he's going to be extremely limited the rest of the season. I'm hoping for the best, but the guy was in a lot of pain.

Two completely different teams out there when Brax is in and out. Down here in Cancun we watched the first half and then went to grab dinner during half time. We made it back for the start of the 4th quarter and the difference I saw was amazing... just day and night differences.

I hope that Brax is ok. I've not seen any replays of the injury but based on what I seeing here, it sounds like light work and a good tape job will have him on the field next weekend.

My only fear is that this will cause a coaching approach meant to completely take away his fearlessness. He can be fearless but still be smart, which is what we need. He just needs to know when to bring it down on his own instead of getting upended.

I know that Miller had problems staying healthy in high school. Does anyone remember precisely what type or types of injuries he sustained at that level? Does he have a history of ankle issues?

I believe a big problem was ankle injuries, and someone mentioned that in the game thread as well. He looked ok towards the end of the 4th quarter, though. Walking a little gingerly, but his stride looked fairly normal.

I think the training staff needs to give this young man jump stretch flex bands to give him more flexibility in his ankles. I also hope that they tape him for every game. I had ankle problems in high school also and the bands make a huge difference in simple ankle rolls.

I recommend more socks to make him bigger and stronger. #overthenewbieshead
